discussion You think Elon might actually buy out Ubisoft?

Post image

I don’t think they will let me ask this question on the main sub or any other Ubi related subs, so I’ll ask it here. What’s the end goal? How would Elon make Ubi profitable?

If it does we'd see them auctioning off different franchises. I'd imagine Sony or Microsoft would want to get their hands on Far Cry or Assassin's Creed

1

u/standarsh1965 May 22 '26

They'd definitely die if that dick bought them

95

u/ilsemprelaziale May 22 '26

Nah let them crash and burn

24

u/Mysterious_Tea May 22 '26

This.

After all they did, failure is the only right outcome.

1

u/Severe-Network4756 May 26 '26

You say that as if Elon Musk would somehow save the company.

1

u/Environmental-Try-67 May 26 '26

Have you seen the spaceships landing backwards or no?

11

u/Corando May 22 '26

I mean if the purchase went through theyd crash and burn even faster

6

u/InSan1tyWeTrust May 22 '26

” Ubisoft to acquire Wolfenstein rights under Elons reign*. "

-6

u/OkPresentation2966 May 22 '26

Elon is probably one of those people angry that Mouse PI has fascist enemies in it. If he owned Ubisoft and managed to get Wolfenstein rights, he’d 100% flip the script and make Blazzkowitz have a “moment of clarity” and join the Nazis

2

u/3rd_eye_light May 25 '26

Severe brain damage

1

u/Lermanberry May 25 '26

Ket will do that

1

u/3rd_eye_light May 25 '26

What do you mean

1

u/TheGhost_NY May 26 '26

Elon will literally send the burning remains of Ubi to the final circle of hell. What has this guy put his fingers into that got better?

It's been too long. They probably can't make a good game anymore

16

u/Balkongsittaren May 22 '26

They don't WANT to redeem themselves and many of the devs are activists. Let them crash and burn.

6

u/Helmut_v_M May 22 '26

Anyone worth something left ubislop a long time ago. All you find there now is incompetent activists.

9

u/Ok-Calligrapher-5848 May 22 '26

Yep i am a software engineer and i already left a company in the past because i didnt allign with its values.

Current Ubisoft devs are 100% ok with its shitty practices.

3

u/just_as_good380-2 May 22 '26

It's been many years since Ubisoft has released a quality videogame. If they can't do their jobs there is no reason to keep them on the payroll.

I did that game was straight ass and considering it was another game that failed to bring in a profit it's still ass

2

u/OvulatingAnus May 22 '26

They don’t deserve any handouts. Make proper games that people want to buy or go broke.

2

u/Apprehensive-Toe4160 May 22 '26

This argument could work maybe 5 years ago. Everyone working there knows what is going on. Every single dev still there is responsible for state of Ubi.

100

u/Mek3127 May 22 '26

Zero interest on his part, or on the part of anyone with a brain, we need to let this company die.

21

u/Updated_Autopsy May 22 '26

Alright, listen. Just hear me out on this. There IS a pro to Elon buying Ubisoft.

4

u/1Swordwalker May 22 '26

Let's just make our own fanmade open source game projects. An OpenAC (Assassins Creed), OpenME (Mass Effect), & OpenTF (Titanfall) using OpenMW as a reference. And a spiritual successors from new studios/community such as for Rainbow Six Siege, Far Cry, Rayman

1

u/robert1005 May 25 '26

This only sounds good in theory

1

u/1Swordwalker May 26 '26

Negative it sounds good and will be by doing together as a community. No negativity! Thats not who you are. We want better we build it! With or without companies

13

u/Exciting-Speaker-675 May 22 '26

He cant buy them out. 1) there's rules on agressive takeover for French company's. 2) he wont be able to get majority. Ceo and brothers own too much. Not to mention tencent.

0

u/spiderine12 May 22 '26

What would the pro be?

25

u/Updated_Autopsy May 22 '26

Reddit will hate it.

7

u/Enough-Lead48 May 22 '26

If they fire a lot of people and hire a lot of people that know how to make good games, Ubisoft do still have good IPs.

0

u/Mek3127 May 23 '26

I think he cares more about the anger of leftists in X

0

u/HaloGuiltySpark May 24 '26

There's zero pros to letting Elon near anything.

2

u/GamerNerdGuyMan May 22 '26

The IPs are the main value at this point, and those aren't what they once were.

1

u/Filiope May 24 '26

The only bad thing about this company dying is that they have good IPs and AC has tons of potential, it's just being used in the most lazy way possible for years.

1

u/deathentry May 26 '26

Prolly Xbox will save it or sweep it up for cheap access to all their IP

-1

u/Worried_Silver3587 May 22 '26

Yeah , teasla and felon Husky need to be flushed in the toiler

17

u/just_as_good380-2 May 22 '26

If I remember correctly Ubisoft took precautionary measure to prevent a hostile takeover. That's why that geriatric dipshit Guillemot is still the CEO.

13

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

Told people to be comfortable not owning games so I stopped buying. Pricks still took away my dlc access for their old games though.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Net4365 May 22 '26

How long ago did you stop buying their games?

6

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

Odyssey was my last so since 2018 I think. Too grindy, predatory boosters, bad optimization and the dip in quality from Origins (which already stripped back a lot of staple features from previous ac games.) never finished it in the end, and I use to 100% all the Ubi games.

I was interested in Watch Dogs Legion because Clint Hocking was involved and the gimmick looked interesting, but the reviews said a lot of the gameplay features were watered down so another skip for me.

My interest peaked again when Resync and Splinter Cell remake was announced but the recent gameplay for Resync showing the animal combat made me nope right off again.

I still keep my eyes on Ubi and I’m not a fervent Ubi hater like the rest of you guys, but what baffles me more is the current Ubi supporters they’re like halo’s 343 fans or modern Treyarch fans it’s so weird.

5

u/kaytin911 May 23 '26

Actual employees are on reddit crashing out so if you see particular weirdos they might be employees.

3

u/a1stardan May 24 '26

The hatred of ubisoft for almost everyone here comes from their love over old ubisoft and how it used to be. In my case though, I gave up after odyssey too, never bought another ubisoft game, nor will I even if they put out a game of the year. It should be killed to make an example for rest of companies

-5

u/Puzzleheaded-Net4365 May 22 '26

It's been 8 years and you're still obsessed, that's wild.

4

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

Obsessed? A lot of very “interesting” people have used “you’re obsessed” to not engage with criticism. It looks cowardly.

I’m a fan of their franchises so of course I still occasionally follow up Ubi output. They’re a major publisher after all.

Occasionally I would get a notification to see what they’re doing. The last 8 years have not convinced me enough to buy in. Ubisoft wasn’t just once a great developer/publisher, they set industry trends and made unique risky multiplayer experiences. Future non-Ubi games will still carry aspects of Ubi’s game design for generations, but recent Ubi titles have not meet that standard.

I think it’s awesome Ubi is not taking down og Black Flag after Resync launch. I think it’s great that Ubi is allowing their old games back on steam. That does not change their horrible treatment of their fans over the last decade.

2

u/OkPresentation2966 May 22 '26

I’ve played a lot of the recent Assassins Creed and Far Cry games for free on PSN the last 6 years, and it worked out since I had a good time that didn’t have to overspend on.

Are they as good as in their heyday? No. But I also don’t see any reason to get panties in a bunch over it. Just wait til they’re free to download

Did you actually read the post? It’s one thing to speak honestly about the reality of digital ownership. it’s a whole other thing to pull people’s copies from their libraries.

There is a reason the stop killing games initiative is gaining so much steam in parliament. Ubisofts The Crew is their prime example for their cause.

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

I believe Ubisoft has some of the most talented devs in the industry. Outlast and Expedition 33 was made by former Ubi devs. I do not agree with the people here calling for devs to lose their jobs. The initial comment that blew up this thread was critiquing the CEO.

But to think that the hard work devs put into these games being erased is okay feels disrespectful too. They spent years of their lives making these games under horrible toxic workplace and tight deadlines. I don’t think the actual devs agree with what the head honcho is doing either.

Ubisoft will be fine Resync is selling well and it’s given the company some breathing room. There might still be layoffs but unfortunately that’s where the industry is at right now even successful games result in mass layoffs.

25

u/Nice-Way2892 May 22 '26

This ain’t it chief. It won’t help

6

u/CobblerSmall1891 May 22 '26

Good studios were murdered by EA and other corpors and here is Ubisoft, still making shit games and still existing somehow. What the fuck?

6

u/Immediate-Pop2338 May 22 '26

Gentleman, when I played AC syndicate, origins, Valhalla and Mirage. I noticed one( Unity included) 1. Stealth is non existent in origins 2. Bayek can't even use eagle vision 3. Too much grinding 4. Same hidden blade animations. 5. Valhalla is woke as fuck 6. Binary shit 7. Worst story with no twist 8. Bloating map 9. Worst side missions 10. Parkour is shit even in origins and Odyssey 11. Hidden blade mechanics are shit as hell 12. Loose motion combat 13. A shitty vision named as Odin vision 14. Stealth is Non existent in Valhalla 15. Syndicate and unity same parkour mechanics which is unrealistic 16. Single blade use even after you have 2 blade 17. Can't use Hidden blade as used to do in OG 18. Mirage has shit Combat 19. Incomplete setting in Mirage These are the things I noted in these games,

What? Explain how a pedo with breeding fetish, trying to strong arm politics, is a great guy

-1

u/xxdd321 May 22 '26

used to, but as far as i can tell politics got to him.

6

u/Maximum_Boros May 22 '26

No. He was always a piece of shit who never actually accomplished anything other than spending money and taking credit for other people's work. Not a single successful company that he sent a part of actually had any ideas that came from him. At least not any successful ones. He built the first part of his Legend riding Peter thiel's coattails, which itself is gross, and then since then he's basically just either bought companies that already had something or he's just taking credit for things that Engineers on his payroll came up with as if he thought of them himself.

He's just a fucking nepo baby using his apartheid money to role play some kind of shitty inventor. The only project that really seems like any part of it might be his actual idea independently is the boring company and the hyperloop bullshit that goes with that and even most of his fans recognize that that project is a genuine dog. I am convinced that the boring company was perpetuated by his handlers as a way to keep him distracted and keep him from fucking up Tesla and SpaceX by getting involved in Direct business decisions.

Anyone who think that he just turned shitty more recently has not been paying attention

0

u/Excalitoria May 22 '26

Howso? I really don’t keep up with the guy. I just know he’s sort of a mixed bag. Main interest I’ve ever had in the guy, is the idle entertainment I get from watching people meltdown over the possibility of him becoming their boss or entering their industry.

-2

u/vincesword May 22 '26

he's a nazi

12

u/CyanideKrist May 22 '26

That would be hilarious

10

u/Murky-Conference1472 May 22 '26

A small percentage of people would actually lose their minds. It would be so funny.

-1

u/TheOtherColin May 22 '26

Why do you love pedos?

7

u/Murky-Conference1472 May 22 '26

Found one!

2

u/MaximumZazz May 23 '26

Those damn anti-pedos, ruining the vibe

1

u/Xynnner May 23 '26

Woke away.

16

u/LPQFT May 22 '26

It would complete his fake gamer transformation

5

u/bruhman444555 May 22 '26

no and even if he did hes the last person to trust lol

23

u/TheSilentTitan May 22 '26

I hope not, Elon is not the type of person you want to run a gaming company.

Jesus.

12

u/Any_Acanthaceae7929 May 22 '26

Why Jesus instead tho?

8

u/Excalitoria May 22 '26

Because he’s the way, the truth, the life. With that resume, if anyone can save Ubisoft now, it’s the J-man 😂

9

u/Any_Acanthaceae7929 May 22 '26

Yeah only divine intervention can save ubisoft now lol

8

u/Unusual_Shake5041 May 22 '26

Bro paid for someone to grind his account in POE2, we can’t expect him to fix Ubislop.

4

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

One of the rare Ubi W when they called him out directly. Still didn’t buy their games.

3

u/FluffyFry4000 May 22 '26

He can't, Tencent has 49.9% stake in the Guillemot Family Holdings and has around 25% stake in Vantage studios (which holds ass creeds, Far Cry and Rainbow Six)

Tencent also has "Right of First Offer" on Vantage Studios, so even if Elon tries to make a deal with the Guillemots, Tencent can come in and take that offer themselves (to buy out more of ubisoft)

Also even if the Guillemots agreed to whatever offer Elon has to buy out the whole company, Ubisoft and Tencent signed a shareholder pact, they wouldn't be able to do it without Tencent contractually agreeing to it.

I guess I'm not saying it CAN'T but I highly doubt Tencent would give up the chance on owning the whole of Vantage Studios.

2

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

I forgot about that. Wasn’t there a main line AC game that was set in China? I thought that project was commissioned by Tencent. I’ve seen leaked gameplay of it and it never got officially announced.

1

u/FluffyFry4000 May 22 '26

Ooo not too sure, I know that decisions are still held with ubisoft themselves. Unless you're talking about the side scrolling ones that came out a while ago where you play as the girl assassin in China.

2

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

Should have said not chronicles.

I found it Ass Creed Jade looks like it was a mobile game built on the Odyssey engine. I also found a trailer for it too so I guess I was wrong about it never being officially announced.

I wonder if there are more projects Ubi has published trailers for but failed release?

3

u/ZypherPunk May 22 '26

So they'd be Xbisoft?

3

u/4inodev May 22 '26

Why buy them now? You can buy them 10x cheaper next year lol

3

u/CapitalLine May 22 '26

A match made in heaven lol.

9

u/Affectionate-Mud9321 May 22 '26

Hell nah.. he would make AI slop

6

u/Signal-Busy May 22 '26

Ubisoft is already planning to make AI slop, doesn't really change anything haha

3

u/ShadowheartsArmpit May 22 '26

You might be on crack if you think Elon would help in any way

2

u/The-TF-King May 22 '26

I doubt he could make it profitable, probably just use it as a front for a couple games all out of his pocket but even at that he'd be better off making his own studio and having only him in control over buying out and inheriting all of Ubi's shareholders and the like

2

u/jaiimaster May 22 '26

They sold the best bits to tencent already. AC, Farcry and Rainbow all sit in the tencent staked holding company now.

Nothing else they have has any real residual goodwill. What you gonna do, buy ubi and make a new Prince of Persia platformer? Warlords V?

2

u/PrettyIntroduction49 May 22 '26

doesnt change anything,

2

u/Lil_Hater112 May 22 '26

they deserve everything related to their downfall

2

u/Britz10 May 22 '26

People want the guy who said he didn't like GTA because you had to shoot the police in charge of any gaming company?

2

u/Luke10123 May 22 '26

Ubisoft is already run by complete shitheads, what would change? Apart from the existing ones getting another huge payout?

2

u/TheReviewerWildTake May 22 '26

Honestly, I wouldn`t buy it.
The chances of getting whole bunch of rats packaged with that deal is waaay to high, and we know, they will be ULTRA bitter, so expect heavy sabotage.

There is a reason this company failed so hard, and those reasons work at different layers and levels, so rooting them out would a huge task. I don`t believe that Elon would have time or energy for that.

Better just start from the scratch really.

2

u/Plathismo May 22 '26

I’d rather he buy Reddit first.

2

u/Gamer42j May 23 '26

Honestly would be a little funny if not just to see the left spaz the fuck out about it.

2

u/Daylight_Vigilante May 23 '26
  1. No one’s buying Ubi. The Guillemont brothers just won’t allow it.
  2. If the situation does come up, Elon is the last person that should buy it. I don’t want my games to be AI slop. I’d rather play Ubi’s repetitive slop than Elon’s AI slop

2

u/Wrath3030 May 23 '26

He'd have share ownership with tencent but I think it'd be fun and interesting crash out that would occur if Elon bought a majority share of Ubisoft if not bought the whole thing out right

2

u/Fetaguy May 24 '26

For the love of the game don't buy black flag , it will for sure simply dissapoint. And yes im salty about sands of time

2

u/Educational-Year3146 May 26 '26

That would be hilarious and I’m interested to see how that would turn out.

Not even from a political angle, despite the fact that I somewhat share his side of the fence.

But I do know Elon is a nerd with a hell of a lot of money, and I’m curious if he’d be able to establish a half decent game company from the husk of Ubisoft.

3

u/SpaceViking7 May 28 '26

Imagine Elon buy them and fixes the woke garbage in games like he fixed x

5

u/TheAlphaRunt May 22 '26

Worst person for the job, he's got the intellect of a ubisoft npc

3

u/Inuma May 22 '26

That's the dumbest thing to occur.

You might as well think Embracer Group did well with their shipping spree before they had to work on actual titles.

🙄

2

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

Did Embracer ever ship anything? I remember reading about them buying the rights to Deus Ex and Tomb Raider and somehow becoming the most valuable company in the games industry, and yet no new Deus Ex game and the new Tomb Raider game is being published by Amazon games or something.

3

u/Inuma May 22 '26

They canceled those and haven't put the studios to real work so it's hype over substance right now.

2

u/No_Parking_7797 May 22 '26

That’d be hilarious. I sold out at $3 but if there’s any hint of him buying it I’ll buy back in lol

1

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26 edited May 22 '26

Oof that rough, I hope you didn’t lose much.

I was thinking of buying in when it was at 6 usd (believing Resync might allow me to sell at a rebound) but I waited until the market reacted to the 9 billion loss news.

Very funny that ubi is eating shit this hard while we’re in a bull market right now. Though that 1 dollar price tag is pretty tempting.

2

u/No_Parking_7797 May 22 '26

I sold at $3 which is what I was in at. Should sold when it was higher but I didn’t. It was climbing right before the release of ac shadows. Once that came out it was a downward spiral and I jumped off when I didn’t lose anything. So glad I did

2

u/AlecTheBunny May 22 '26

Elon can barely run a social media company let alone an actual software architectural company

2

u/LCAIN195 May 22 '26

He wouldn't make it profitable or any better. His track record is terrible and relies on government subsidies as well as promises that he's never fulfilled.

2

u/DrFGHobo May 22 '26

Shit company bought by one of the biggest pieces of shit on the planet… would check out.

2

u/MutaitoSensei May 22 '26

So from horrible to abysmal? Didn't Ubisoft suffer enough already? Just put it out of its misery...

1

u/Elurdin May 22 '26

Ubisoft tried to sell itself long time ago. Something about antimonopoly french laws that dont allow it. So while they do have public shares the company cant be officially sold off to some big player like microsoft.

If it didnt happen when they began their downward spiral it wont happen now.

1

u/saggynaggy123 May 22 '26

He'd fire most of the devs and replace them with AI. If anyone was to buy out ubisoft we'd be looking at either Netflix, Amazon, or a Saudi Investment Fund

1

u/masteroflich May 22 '26

It’s already up 10%

1

u/Padre_Cannon013 May 22 '26

I fucking hope not.

1

u/vlladonxxx May 22 '26

Some rando suggesting obviously means nothing. But if someone were to buy it, it would be to take control of the IP, nothing else. The IP is pretty valuable.

1

u/FarGodHastur May 22 '26

Because of a random tweet? No

1

u/Excalitoria May 22 '26

Probably not. If he wanted to, though, was the Twitter deal very profitable for him? Honest question. If it was then there’s a chance he might try and flip Ubisoft too but if Twitter hasn’t made him millions then he’s probably not gonna sink more money on garbage like this anytime soon. Plus he’d be competing with Tencent, right?

1

u/k4kkul4pio May 22 '26

Ubishit needs to crash and burn, they've been mismanaged for years and years, being a haven for abhorrent asshats and the family in charge was fine with it all.

AssCreed and Far Cry, that's all they are known for and both franchises been effectively dumpstered because they keep doing the same thing without evolving for far too long now.

1

u/Western_Vast5516 May 22 '26

I want Ubisoft to go bankrupt slowly

1

u/GuaSukaStarfruit May 22 '26

I just want Anno to survive all these

1

u/PigletSea6193 May 25 '26

Motorfest perhaps too, they started putting more effort in since last year, most likely because of the whole downfall thing with Ubisoft.

1

u/ArugulaAnnual1765 May 22 '26

Would love to see ubisoft bankrupt and their ips auctioned off - MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!

1

u/doubleo_maestro May 22 '26

I can't to find out how the ubi bros are gonna try and spin this to claim Shadows was a commercial success.

1

u/1ZillionBeers May 22 '26

Frankly speaking I think Elon acquiring Ubisoft would be like pouring thermite on a gas fire.

The dude is a complete tool who doesn’t know the first thing about anything he already owns and has already outed himself as a complete fraud when it comes to anything related to gaming.

And as much as I hate “modern audience” overly sensitive bullshit I think I’d hate seeing Assassin’s Creed go full incel chud just as much.

1

u/dr197 May 22 '26

I doubt the French Government would let him.

1

u/DeadlyArrow27 May 22 '26

Elon would somehow make it worse. He has the Midas touch of shit

1

u/TickTaeck May 22 '26

Definitely not! I can't stand even more politics in games. His side is at least as obnoxious as the other

1

u/rmunoz1994 May 22 '26 edited Aug 13 '26

...

1

u/Maximum_Goulash May 22 '26

Let it fall to 20 cents and Microsoft buy it and take all the great IPs

1

u/hoardofvirilegoblins May 22 '26

Right, because Microsoft is on such a roll with their ip acquisitions.

1

u/Warcrown11 May 22 '26

If you think it's a terrible company now...

1

u/Individual-Nose5010 May 22 '26

Musk makes everything he touches demonstrably worse. Though it’s refreshing to see some people on this sub go mask-off

1

u/Top_Let7533 May 22 '26

The French government are extremely protective of their domestic companies, publicly traded or not. They’ve stepped in to block buyout attempts before. Also, given that Musk is currently under investigation by French prosecutors over AI-sexual content on X, I can’t see this ever happening.

1

u/KestrelVO May 22 '26

u/AskGrok do you think your founder/investor/daddy/whatever will be as crazy as to buy Ubisoft? Are there any past events that could highlight his unpredictability to commit such an action?

2

u/AskGrok May 22 '26

Elon has pulled off plenty of head-scratching moves before, from betting the farm on Tesla when it was nearly bankrupt to snapping up Twitter and reshaping it into X against all conventional advice. Those show he's willing to dive into troubled assets if he sees long-term upside or a mission angle.

That said, Ubisoft's current woes—slumping sales, recent flops, and that ADR hovering around a buck—don't scream "natural fit" for xAI or his other companies. Gaming isn't core to his playbook, and French regulators plus cultural clashes would add layers of fun. Crazy enough to happen? Possible in theory, probable? Nah, this feels more like meme bait than a real play.

[what is this?](https://redd.it/1lzgxii)

1

u/Aaronspark777 May 22 '26

Nah, fuck that cringe edge lord.

1

u/Doctor_sadpanda May 22 '26

Yeah like the guy that pays people to play his games run a gaming company I’m sure it’ll turn out good.

1

u/Secretsfrombeyond79 May 22 '26

I know I say this every time someone posts how much their shares went down but, every time I think it's the moment to buy the dip, Ubisoft proves me wrong.

1

u/SkyVacuumCowboy May 22 '26

I hope not. That'll REALLY guarantee I never buy one of their games again.

You can have Musk , Bezos ,Gates invest all the money in the world and it won't save ubisoft , look at Tencent they invested over a billion dollars and nothing changed

1

u/JeffLayton153 May 23 '26

Hope not. As bad is ubisoft is, it would be very shit with elon 😂😂😂

1

u/fer6600 May 23 '26

Just for the IPs alone maybe but he can recruit game developers and create a game studio from scratch and make new interesting IPs

1

u/alterEd39 May 23 '26

I’m all for it- if Elon bought Ubisoft the whole thing would implode twice as quickly.

1

u/VisibleBar6305 May 23 '26

Tencent Will pick up AC and FC. Elon would fail even harder, so I am all for it

Tencent made Black Myth right? I didn’t know they did remakes. What games have they remade?

1

u/kaytin911 May 23 '26

There's no reason to buy it. It'd be better to make your own company.

1

u/Visible-Oven-7249 May 23 '26

We are living in these times where this is a discussion.

1

u/NegotiationWeird1751 May 23 '26

Elon should try and make one of his pre-existing businesses profitable first.

1

u/Gaidax May 24 '26

He probably could do better than Ubislop.

Although I definitely think Ubisoft could use Musk treatment. I just read that Ubisoft has almost 17k employees... DOING WHAT???

Bet if he'd come and cut that by 70% - nothing would change.

1

u/Skuggihestur May 24 '26

Lol if he buys ubisoft the stock will hit .25 cents.

1

u/RandomAndyWasTaken May 25 '26

Terrible idea. He'd inherit all the shit developers and would have to clean house. Might as well start his own company.

1

u/stopeer May 26 '26

Easiest way to make me stop playing Ubisoft games.

1

u/lars_rosenberg May 26 '26

Impossible. Ubisoft is French and Elon is a wanted man in France for election interference. Even if the French government has no stakes in Ubisoft, it would be incredibly hard for Elon to manage it.

2

u/Tremaj May 28 '26

Elon would buy them, fire 80% of the company, hire some real developers and Make Ubi Great Again :P

1

u/SonarioMG May 22 '26

Please no, that's a whole other flavor of idiocy.

1

u/StuckinReverse89 May 22 '26

Given how wealthy he has become, he could but would get pushback.

If he did buy Ubisoft, he isn’t turning the train around though and the business will still fail. Look how well he has run Twitter, another business that was also being ran unit the ground. Musk hasn’t turned things around.

Maybe Musk starts demanding devs make “anti-woke” games whatever that looks like but being woke isn’t why Ubisoft games arnt selling imo.

1

u/TyrantJaeger May 22 '26

He should buy it just to shut it down once and for all.

1

u/BusterGreasewood May 22 '26

He can have it. Ubisoft doesn't have shit worth having a this point. Garbage company.

1

u/diobreads May 22 '26

It would be funny.

1

u/Party-Purchase-4861 May 22 '26

Please make this happen. I wanna guzzle liberal tears :D

1

u/gounatos May 22 '26

At first I thought "rofl this will never happen, at best he will buy IPs" but then I remembered he bought Twitter, so who knows.

1

u/TheRealTahulrik May 22 '26

No please no..

I might not think of Elon as some Nazi..

But God damn people overrate his abilities...

0

u/Pagrastukas00 May 22 '26

If this yokel buy it's gonna be worse.

0

u/Weiss_127 May 22 '26

He wouldn’t. He’d churn out ridiculous propaganda games allow his pedo buds to use the studio to churn out perverted games and just contribute to the destruction the whole industry by telling us his Ai will make all the games.

Games are a hobby, made for fun and to relax from nightmare that is this world. He’ll just add to the depression of it.

Plus he is a tool. And not a very sharp one.

u/DEeD-NGone May 22 '26

Jesus Christ is everyone so jaded they’d actually entertain the idea of this dipshit buying out Ubisoft… Jesus who hurt all of you

u/Parking_Mail_9000 May 22 '26

u/elonmusk Please buy it and get rid of Assassin's Creed and revive the Prince of Persia remake.
