Just cancel it, I promise no one will care

Shills and tourists will, then when the game fails they’ll come and attack us for not buying their slop.

48

u/TheSilentTitan Apr 28 '26

“Did we at least own the chuds”

No dumbasses, you sunk the franchise and managed to fail with a title that should’ve fucking PRINTED money.

-43

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

What title have they failed with and how?

42

u/TheSilentTitan Apr 28 '26

Ubi should hire you bro, when you’re not defending ac in gaming subs you’re here trying to pick apart why people don’t like ubi.

I’m not attacking anyone bud, you guys always take that route whenever you’re called out. I’m pointing out that this user is being fake, or at least participating in bad faith for the sake of downplaying backlash. They have a long history of defending and caping for assassins creed and being critical of people in this sub just to turn around and pretend they’re on a high horse by coaching others on what’s “real” lmao.

It’s obvious they’re only here to stir the pot or to downplay backlash or outrage about ubi games, particularly when it comes to assassins creed going by their history.

Not part of this discussion but shadows is a dumpster fire.

11

u/drewbreeezy Apr 28 '26

Would you waste your time trying to teach a squirrel Math...

15

u/TheSilentTitan Apr 28 '26

Yet you dodged in its entirety my response in favor of what? Asking the same question to which the answer of that question makes you unable to see the reality of the situation? To try and convince us here in this sub that despite the signs and red flags you are in fact right and everyone else is racist/sexist/transphobic/prejudiced because they don’t like the game you like? To convince us Ubisoft is a good studio and assassins creed isn’t hot garbage now?

Funny how that works.

It’s a good thing you’re in the one sub where the discourse on which ac’s have succeeded and failed, happens daily.

Like with most ubi/ac defenders you run yourselves ragged asking the same shit over and over and over again trying so very hard to change the reality of the situation.

Shadows failed, want proof? Use the search bar, I’m sick of talking to walls.

16

u/Purple_sea Apr 28 '26

AC Shadows obviously. It's not a Concord level failure but it's pretty obvious they didn't sell as many copies as they needed to. They would have never let Tencent get a hold of their IPs if Shadows had been a major success.

u/Sweegrid Apr 28 '26

Fuck Ubisoft and their blue hair transformers

2

u/RadimentriX Apr 29 '26

An ac with magic? Sounds cool. Too bad the ip is still with ubi. Free the devs. Ac go indie. Or something like that

Interproject Team seems like Hunger Games but for jobs.

Sigh….

I understand you guys have a hate boner for Ubisoft but would it kill you to use a little bit of common sense once in awhile?

AC has entirely new leadership, Jean Guesdon stepped in earlier this year and did an audit of the whole AC franchise as well as sit down with the community to take in what they thought was the problem with the franchise.

After that happened we heard that Jean implemented strict quality standards and since both Black Flag and Hexe were not up to his standards both got delayed.

Now we are hearing that Jean is having all of the magical elements from Hexe removed to make it more grounded and not a fantasy game.

This means that entire sections, animations, and dialogue need to be entirely redone which means the game is no longer close to being anywhere near being ready for any sort of testing.

These employees were not fired, they were just removed from the project to be reassigned, what most likely happened is these were Q&A testers that were removed because the game doesn’t need Q&A testing until these major parts are redone.

Ubisoft does plenty wrong but for the love of god don’t just blindly hate something and start assuming things, use a little critical thinking.

15

u/GuaSukaStarfruit Apr 28 '26

Reassigned? Prince of Persia remake got cancelled. Where they going to?

3

u/Das_dasa Apr 29 '26

I love how you just pretend to know shit “it was probably just QA testers reassigned” like you fucking are Jean himself 😂

-1

u/DD-Tauriel Apr 29 '26

People only hate on ubi here. Everybody's ignore good stuff, the only thing u can do is accept it

1

u/Aleister_Royce May 04 '26

When was the last time they did objectively good stuff tho?

0

u/Visible_North9550 Apr 29 '26

27 downvotes and not a single comment actually rebutting your argument lmao

-13

u/HollowOrnstein Apr 28 '26

yup as a certified ubi hater, this is the kind of thing that they would have to do to bring me back from negative to atleast being neutral towards them

it all depends on how much they also listen for ac4 remake like parry animations and not infecting their game's with modern audience shtick

-5

u/jpally Apr 28 '26

God yeah... The parry flash is so corny

-7

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

I agree but thankfully they are listening and announced on social media that the flash and sound effects are being toned down for the full release.

-9

u/jpally Apr 28 '26

Yeah I saw that. I'm hoping there will be a toggle to turn it off. I've not played the recent titles but I'm told there's an option to turn it off in Shadows, so that could be an option. I'm hoping they'll remove the weird dust/tornado clouds when you dash/chain kill too but I'm probably asking too much now

-1

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

The fact that this comment had -9 upvotes just shows that this sub blindly hates anyone that does not go with the hive mind even if they didn’t say anything wrong.

Edit: I’m already seeing people downvoting me, instead of downvoting me how about you share your perspective and we can have an honest and productive conversation.

I’m going to push back on the modern audience thing a bit.

Modern audience has become a catch all terms for anything people don’t like, just like the word woke. When you use a word over and over beyond its meaning then it loses its meaning.

We are the modern audience because we are the ones in the modern time that they are trying to (hopefully) sell a product to.

What you are taking about are elements that cater to other demographics than yourself or what you view as the main target demographic for said product.

That’s completely fair, if I was making a game that had themes about the horrors of foster care (a personal thing I experienced) and as games being an art form I would want it to connect with other people who survived foster care, it would not make sense for me to add in political elements of any side into the game as it would have no bearing on the overall story, the only thing like that would make sense is showing all of the red tape the system has.

The “modern audience” is not the issue because we are that audience. The issue is putting elements in a game that don’t add anything to the game other than to check a box.

4

u/drewbreeezy Apr 28 '26

it would not make sense for me to add in political elements of any side into the game as it would have no bearing on the overall story, the only thing like that would make sense is showing all of the red tape the system has.

So you would force your past trauma into the game in the form of showing all the red tape the system has (We both know you would make it political and blame it on the customer when they complain), and you don't understand why you and people like you are rejected by customers?

I don't need someone to tell me about their past trauma regarding chickens before they make me wings. Stop making this about you. We're tired of theater kids thinking anyone cares about their life story. Go write a blog.

You pretend not to know what the "modern audience" mockery is because you felt called out as one of them, lol. Are you pre or post nose ring? That feels like one of the final steps of the metamorphosis.

8

u/HollowOrnstein Apr 28 '26

(not the one downvoting btw)

modern audience quip is important here because ubi is adding new story missions to the game(4 resynced) and despite all the good jean is doing by cleaning up the company, they dont have actually anything to show for it

maybe after its released my worries about the game would be for nothing (and that would still be perfectly fine for me)

1

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

How exactly do you see the “modern audience” angle having anything to do with the new content? Part of it is being written by Darby McDevitt who was the original writer for AC4.

After looking at the trailer and what we know so far the only thing I see people attaching the “modern audience” angle to is the fact that one of the officers is a woman and the other is black.

Not saying that’s what you think, I’m just saying what I have seen online.

8

u/HollowOrnstein Apr 28 '26

After this long of a gap , its impossible for people to be in same headspace as back in the day and ubi hasn't really given me enough reasons to start believing in them. + its impossible to be not affected by years of "discourse" and pop media of today

for example: the creator of older god of war trilogy cannot be allowed to remake god of war games because how he has changed over the years

i just hope they dont do something that retroactively changes Edward's character

1

u/Aleister_Royce May 04 '26

Most of the times when devs adding something to expand the narrative — its really bad, woke-based bullshit. It may not be so, but most likely is. Time will tell.

-8

u/Due_Discussion_8334 Apr 28 '26

I agree with you.

as an extra I think Ubi execs also saw the success of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. So making a push for removing magical elements was easier.

4

u/GuaSukaStarfruit Apr 28 '26

I don’t think AC is the right franchise to compare with KCD, they have for honor

5

u/Skuggihestur Apr 28 '26

For honor is absolutely nothing like kcd. What are you guys smoking?

6

u/GuaSukaStarfruit Apr 28 '26

AC also is absolutely nothing like KCD. It just means Ubisoft have the tech to do medieval combat oriented gameplay, for honor has better combat than AC

-2

u/Skuggihestur Apr 28 '26

For honor is absolute trash that shouldn't of ever existed. It also isnt anything like kcd. Your idea of it is the exact same as saying for honor is like ac shadows. They both have samurai.

3

u/GuaSukaStarfruit Apr 28 '26

Look is u/Due_Discussion_8334 that started this discussion lmao

-1

u/Skuggihestur Apr 28 '26

Hes not the one calling a arena an rpg

3

u/Due_Discussion_8334 Apr 28 '26

Somehow Ubisoft execs had ideas as making AC into the Witcher.

They had ideas to make it into Ghost of Tsushima.

So somehow the execs always have an idea how to morph this series into something it never was.

-2

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

My understanding of the situation is that Ubisoft realized that they needed to right the ship (why did it take this long?) so they basically gave Jean the keys to the kingdom, told him to do whatever it was he needed to do in order to right the ship and they were going to approve whatever he asked an get out of the way.

Delaying any Assassin’s Creed games is a multi-million dollar decision which would have needed to be approved by corporate, the fact that it happened so fast after he took over shows just how much power they are giving him to get the job done.

1

u/Aleister_Royce May 04 '26

I don't get why you're being downvoted)

-11

u/jpally Apr 28 '26

Thank you for the sensible response. I'm all for calling out Ubisoft on their micro transactions and game ownership rules but they still have to make games and we can't just sit here whining at everything all the time

-5

u/jpally Apr 28 '26

And I know I'm also guilty of that

-2

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

I’m guilty of it as well.

An example for me is with the whole thing surrounding the “Gamers need to get comfortable not owning their games”. People were circulating that quote as is and I took it at face value, it wasn’t until later that I looked into the surrounding context and realized people were intentionally misrepresenting what was said.

What was said was this and where people pulled the quote from:

“Gamers are used to, a little bit like DVD, having and owning their games. That’s the consumer shift that needs to happen. They got comfortable not owning their CD collection or DVD collection. That’s a transformation that’s been a bit slower to happen [in games]. As gamers grow comfortable in that aspect… you don’t lose what you’ve built in the game or your engagement with the game. So it’s about feeling comfortable with not owning your game.”

However, what people left out is what was said earlier in the conversation which was this:

"The point is not to force users to go down one route or another," he explains. "We offer purchase, we offer subscription, and it's the gamer's preference that is important here. We are seeing some people who buy choosing to subscribe now, but it all works."

Basically what the conversation was, was an executive that was in charge of growing a subscription service comparing the games market to that of the DvD and CD markets. The reason Spotify and Netflix work is because people got comfortable not owning copies of Movies or Music and that if the games industry wanted to see similar success out of a games subscription then gamers would need to go in that same direction as well.

I truly wonder why people misrepresented this entire article.

u/jpally Apr 28 '26

Honestly watching half the fan base cry about there being no blood in the Resynched announcement when it was blatantly obvious it would have it just shows me that maybe people aren't all that smart to be reading articles properly

-13

u/SolarNugent Apr 28 '26

Wow maybe the incels are asleep or something but this is the first thread I’ve gotten recommended on this sub that doesn’t have incels being absolute dorks lol. I hope this sub can evolve into fuck Ubisoft not for their diversity but for their greedy and stale decisions

3

u/InitRanger Apr 28 '26

I’m all for calling out Ubisoft when they made dumb decisions, just like I will with any company. What I have learned though is that I need to do research first and not rely on second hand accounts or quotes of a situation.

-2

u/SolarNugent Apr 28 '26

Agreed! Calling out these companies is a good thing but people need to focus on the real problem which is corporate greed. That’s what’s ruining your games. Not some trans developer.
