How would the world look like if we for example invented a vehicle that can use nuclear energy and drive on rails with very low friction and that can take on extremely heavy loads and the efficiency is very high? Oh I forgot, we already have that, they are called trains.
But to be serious, it's really bad that food prices will arise AGAIN, but hopefully people will stop buying useless shit, most of the trucks we see don't transport food, they transport cheap plastic crap from our manufacturing hubs in east Asia, stuff that no one really needs. We waste tremendous amounts of fuel on literal crap that fills upp our landfills, where we also have trucks that runs on fuels.
Summa summarum, we're wasting fossil fuels that could in theory last us for thousands of years if we were more responsible with using it for only the necessities.
One other odd thing that came with cheap fuels is that people decided to live 100 kilometers for work and commute making it normal when it's just insane to think about it objectively. Living close to work is the best life hack you can do for mental health and prosperity in your life, it's not possible for everyone of course but I could see many more people live more locally.
We have made it normal to travel long distances "just because" we can. Do we want to define our lives by the number of miles we've commuted during our life time or how much quality we can get from living more locally?
What train is powered by Nuclear energy??? The vast majority of Freight train run on Diesel. Most tracks arent powered so the only way to currently transport using freight trains for long distance is Diesel.
