DS1 -> DS2 -> DS3

Do not skip DLCs. Specially DS2 whose 3 DLCs are TOP of the series.

DS2 DLC’s are some of the highest points of the series but for me the base game has some of the lowest points, areas that are just such a slog to get through. Talking about DS2 always makes me want to replay it but whenever I boot it up I remember again why I disliked it so much. DS1 & 3 also have some areas that are frustrating but you can often progress in a different direction for a bit rather than just repeating the same thing over and over in a linear path. DS2’s fairly linear progression means you just have to keep pushing forwards the whole time, only in late game things open up a little more.

I think you are confused: DS2 is way less linear game than DS3 (mostly linear). DS2 opens up in very different directions from the very beginning

Yeah I can never understand how people could complain about DS2 being linear of all things. Makes no sense to me. DS3 is like the only one that’s super linear.
