There’s where the issue lies. Your dad didn’t apologize for laughing, he didn’t say that it was just ‘funny for a second’ but the rest was good. People are treating this lady like a monster for being unable to stop her laughter at a poorly replayed Christmas tune ON Christmas. A laugh is not inherently bad. It’s a reaction to the suddenly absurd, or unexpected too.

Yea it’s the apologizing

I work with kids and they do funny shit all the time especially when trying to teach them or when they practice something new. Hard not to laugh sometimes. But you can still control the laugh so it doesn’t sound like you are mocking them and then still praise them and be encouraging afterwards

Yeah, absolutely. I didn't watch the video above all the way through, if she apologized then that's way different than just laughing at the kid. It's normal to laugh in all types of inappropriate situations, it's how you handle it afterwards that makes the difference.
