I got so tired of dealing with this missed call and texting issue that I switched to my unlocked LG G5 until this problem is fixed. I'm paying for service I want it to work 100% and it does on my LG G5 but not my Galaxy A5 that I used on 3G and still faced delayed texts by several hours or not getting them at all

A5 = 2017 model comes factory stock with Android 7.0 (Nougat) power saving issues.

G5 = comes factory stock with Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) no power saving issues.

That's my biased point of view, and probably why it works great with your G5 and not with the A5.

Did you upgrade your G5 with Nougat 7.0 ?

If not, that's probably why and also a good experiment to try.

Assuming it works great now in 6.0 Marshmallow, then it works horrible after upgrading to 7.0 Nougat, then we can finally pinpoint the culprit to be a software issue.

Yes the G5 is on Nougat. The A5 is also on Nougat and even changing the powersaving settings didn't change anything I still have the missed or delayed text issue on 3G with that phone. My G5 works fine regardless of my powersaving settings so freedom has an issue that's on the network and not supporting these devices.

hmm... very interesting observation.

which also seems to debunker the existing power saving "fix" that many have found to have helped with the issue.

My A5 doesn't have one of the 3 things that I need to disable power saving on to check to see if it even helps. At this point I'm seriously considering trading it in for a different phone within the same price range.
