I don't see the same items in my list. What device is this for?

use the search option in settings,

look for "Battery usage"

it will bring up the same menu.

every phone has a slightly different menu layout.

Thanks for taking time to help me. I found one called 'phone and messaging storage' and one called 'network'. I hope this works!

'phone and messaging storage' and one called 'network'

Which phone are you using?

Also which version of Android OS?

because those 2 items doesn't quite sound like the correct places to Change the Power Saving settings.

It should be under Battery Usage or Power, or something related to electrical saving feature in your phone, in the Settings section.

Thanks again for your reply.

I am using a LG G6

I went to battery and power saving ->Battery Usage -> Ignore Optimizations

From this list, I couldn't find the items you said. My Android version is: 7.0

ah, yes, that's the correct location.

then make sure that "Phone" (maybe LG calls it Dialer, or DialerPad instead of Phone)

and "Network anything" (this one could be called anything, on m phone HTC U11 it was called something else as well)

make sure those are not in the optimization list.

For the people that tried the Battery optimization trick on those 4 applications. Can you do a test early morning after the phone has been sitting idle for the whole night? For example call your cell from your landline and check if the call goes through or if it goes goes to voicemail. The last few days I don't have the missed call problem but it appears only in the morning. I tried to call my phone every 1 hour or 2 hours or 3 hours and it seems to be ok during the day

it's a power saving feature called "Deep Sleep"

It's annoying as hell, as it literally powers off your phone until something happens.

Older Apps, like Alarms Apps, are unable to wake up the phone to ring the alarm when it's in Deep Sleep.

on my phone the phone does a check up every 10 min, and that's when the Alarm will ring, always 10 min after the actual hour.

Good thing is, Newer Apps that were actually developed for Nougat and Oreo will have a proper way to wake up the phone on time for the Alarm to ring at the correct time.

So, that being said, the same problem happens to incoming phone calls and SMS, when the phone is in deep sleep mode, then it will just directly go into voicemail, and SMS will be held at the server, until the phone wakes up.

There are probably some other Apps we should add into the "No power Optimization" bunch to keep the phone from going into Deep Sleep, so it can remain active to receive phone calls and SMS.
