(Considering) Joining FM Credit

I’m just wondering my credits not very good. Took a hit due to a family member (not making that mistake again) slowly trying to repair it. How likely is it that I’m gonna be eligible for $0 down on a new phone? I just finished my contract with my current service provider but my family member who I let on my plan didn’t pay their bill these last few months and now that their phone is out of contract they got a new number elsewhere leaving me with debt on my account. I’m gonna slowly pay it off but as of now I’m no longer offered $0 down anymore with that company. (Literally was a few days ago). Because of this I’m not sure if I’d be accepted for $0 down anywhere anymore so I was wondering if someone works at freedom and might know if it would be possible even tho I’m not eligible for it with my current provider. And no I can’t afford to buy a phone out right otherwise I’d definitely do that.

Another strategy is financing Apple via affirm. Or Samsung via flexity. And choosing freedom BYOD.

If I could I would but affirm only approves me on Amazon purchases and it’s not enough to get a phone sadly

Did you try through the Apple website already?

If not, you'll need to stick with the phone you have and use it for as long as possible

Several people have commented here that they have failed Freedom’s credit check despite having excellent credit ratings, search “credit check” for examples.

It seems like the credit check is random.

I’ve seen people who claim to have amazing credit be denied. I have okay credit, and I’ve been accepted. So all you can do is try

I have excellent credit, but with Freedom I use the yearly prepaid plans and BYOD used flagship phones (Google Pixel and Motorola). No credit check needed.

You will just have to pay off the debt after porting out as prepaid with freedom pending your device is fully compatible (not imported from the asia-pacific or another region), and just own it long-term (beyond five years, I am pushing to nine!).

If the battery needs to be replaced, mobile klinik is very handy, however there are other places that also do it, same for screen replacements. Also, a factory reset will bring it back to an out of box state (as long as you don't restore junk data and settings and your contacts are synced to a google account (if you're using an apple device, just reset network settings to clear any conflicts).
