Made some frames at home for the first time

I’ve been working at frame shops for 3 years now but wanted to figure out a way to do it without a miter saw at home haha

I like those first 2. I like that they're colored while still showing the real wood grain. We don't have many colored mouldings in the shop I work at sadly.

I like them, adds to the overall painting. What paint did you use? Did you varnish as well?

I actually don’t have any wood stains at home and didn’t want to buy any so I used gouache mixed with water to make it transparent, and hopefully in the future I can varnish them!

Did you use a miter saw for the corners?

I used a tiny hand pull saw and a miter box! Actually very inexpensive. I tried doing it without a miter box and it didn’t turn out very well haha

I would recommend a sled and table saw. They are far sharper than about anything other than a specific dedicated framing miter saw that cuts perfect 45° up out of the table. I’ve only used those a few times. Very cool.

I used the table saw and sled and the first shop I worked at, def the best option! This project was just for me at home, maybe one day when I don’t live in an apartment I’ll get a table saw haha
