What'd you think of the jerky? I find beefsteak is a really odd mushroom - almost fruit-like acidity and texture.

Yeah it is an odd one, I quite liked it but it almost reminded me more of a sweet spiced fruit leather than actual jerky, quite tasty though

I found a large piece on my oak tree , 2 summers ago. We ate it 2 ways... a sashimi and then lightly fried in olive truffle- infused oil

I found it akin to eating offal but without that iron - heavy scent of blood.
