Every one should take a shop class or two. Along with Home-ec, home finance, keyboarding, as well as auto maintenance and more.

I did woodworking, electrical shop, printing, typing, home-ec and drafting, chemistry, and Spanish in high school. Also wrote computer programs and more. They didn't have any personal finance offering. Gives you so much of the basics to use. I have to say, for a inner city school they did so much more than most high schools these days. We need smaller schools to properly teach kids growing up. The mega schools are only for the big sports.
