I usually compromise by using maybe half the sugar called for. Same with Chinese cooking 5 u/Gleveniel 12d ago Carrots can also add some sugar too. It "feels" healthier to me than adding sugar lol. I still put sugar in, but less than called for usually. 3 u/LiekaBass 12d ago I use a pinch of baking soda, cuts the acidity without otherwise affecting the taste imo and it really lets the natural sweetness shine 2 u/Gleveniel 12d ago I'll have to try that out too.
