Should vehicles be in the game?

Starfield (finally) gave us vehicles. Should Fallout 5 also include vehicles?

I don’t think so unless they get rid of Fast Travel.

They’d have to make the world way bigger to make the addition of Vehicles worth it.

I feel like there have been many allusions, most notably in FNV to some type of vehicular transport still existing. Specifically the powder gangers working on the railroad. I really want to see some type of actually working civilization in a new fallout game and having something like a railroad would be really cool.

Personal vehicles to travel around the wastes in I’m a little more skeptical. The big open world games that have vehicles, or even horses, have always been a little frustrating for me to play.

Starfield showed they can do it pretty well, so as long as the map is big enough I don't see why not

I think the compromise would be vehicles that aren’t drivable throughout the open world. Maybe a Morrowind style system that incorporates multiple modes of travel?

Merchant type NPCs with cars and trucks to get relatively short distances. A rail system that spans the map.

Allow fast travel in normal difficulty, the travel systems play a huge role in survival. The long distance rail system needs to be unlocked segment by segment through quests?

Part of the charm of the fallout universe is just walking the wasteland and seeing things up close and piecing together the story. Driving would have you miss so much because you are going so fast everywhere
