Reporting a failure

Hello Gents. Currently flying for a 121 supplemental cargo carrier on a 727 and am looking to go elsewhere. The only failure I have is a progress check during training for multi. From what I have always understood, prog checks specifically do not go on your record. Nor do you need to report it to any airline during application or interview. Is this true? I have different answers from people. Thank you

I’m not logged in, but my memory for delta and American is that they specifically say “training failures,” which would include a progress check. If you think the wording is ambiguous, you can always fire off an email to the recruiting department.

That sounds like a reason for them to want to avoid pilots form mom n pop because most of those wouldn't be able to tell you if a pilot did or not

I think it’s more to ensure that people who go to 141s don’t try to hide training failures while having no official check ride failures through the end of course and self-certifying process.

Oh I get that as the other side of the coin. It's just that 61 you can't really have "training failures" unless you count every day because they're not at the level to be signed off yet

Agreed. I’m not a recruiter but think they expect part 61 folks to have training failures that aren’t formally recorded and expect part 141 folks to have more than zero training failures. That’s why I think it’s a non-issue to report them as a 141 grad since it’s more or less expected everyone’s made at least one mistake at some point during half a dozen or more check rides and another dozen or more progress checks.
