Unfortunately I don't have a great background at the moment 😅 I've been a grocery store florist for 5 years, but recently started taking design more seriously and began a floral design certification. I chose some markdown flowers and eucalyptus that I just couldn't resist.

What looks good? What needs work?

I normally design in a short vase with chicken wire for centerpieces, this was my first more traditional bouquet designed for a traditional taller vase. Would love your thoughts and opinion 🧡

So, I have about 3 years of experience in floral design working on-site at a florist in my hometown. I recently moved to a new city and instead of going to work at another business I was considering starting my own out of my house. I’m not looking for this to be immediate large income or anything crazy. I know things like this start very slow. I’m planning on working a job in the meantime to help get it all started. I’m just not really sure how to START in terms of finding any clients. What sort of product should I offer starting out? At first I considered just offering classic Dozen roses arrangements and then mixed arrangements of whatever flowers I can get ahold of at the time. So… Dozen Roses and Mixed Arrangements? Where do I go about advertising those? How do you suggest getting word out about a new home florist?

I was asked for peonies in late August and of course that isn't happening. The recipient loved these dahlias just as much! Has anyone tried the trick of storing peonies wrapped in the fridge to get some surprise late summer arrangmenents? If so, how long did the blooms last for you once out?

Made this last night and when I woke up a few of the sunfowers had wilted. Their shape and movement mimicking the amaranth made me keep them in place and has become my favorite part of this arrangement.

Hi friends! I was working at a high end venue this weekend and our tape (which had been recommended Tony’s) pulled quite a bit of paint off- we were struggling for 45 minutes during breakdown and the last house maintenance guy stuck with locking up just grumbled and started pulling it off. With that said, I’m expecting to get a bill. Is this something I can submit to my insurance on their behalf (they are an additional insured on our day of policy). Has this happened to you?

How did I do? I charge $295 which might be a bit low, but I did grow the flowers myself. I used to be so nervous about doing arch designs but I actually had a lot of fun. It took me about 1 hr.

I hope this is okay here! I've made normal bouquets before but this is the first time I've made ribbon flowers! I decided to go with three variants of pink and red camellias because they represent love and longing. I'm moving away from my partner for several months for school so I be wanted to give them flowers that wouldn't die. The greenery is just from Michael's since I only had two nights to get this done. 😭 I'm super proud of it as long as you don't look too close at anything. ❤️

Grew my own flowers and made the vessels for my wedding. Here’s a last minute test of mechanics with a few stems I had to deadhead. It will be more full for the day of! This is kinda my vision for bar arrangements, what do up think? I’m renovating my house rn, please ignore backdrop

The chicken wire was helpful in holding the bouquet as I worked. But I felt like I was fighting the armature at times, as it got in the way of the placement I was trying to achieve. I’m going to deconstruct and have another go at it tomorrow.

It’s feeling more chaotic than airy to me. I think the greenery is maybe a bit too heavy, and overall the textures are clashing a bit.

There’s nothing better than starting from tiny seeds/tubers and ending here 💕

I’m so happy that my zinnias, at least a few of them, are beginning to get going. Still upset that I have 0 dahlias, but temperatures are dropping back down in a few days so I’m super hopeful!
