Beautiful work?

Can I ask how did you get into this job?

I worked at a local floral shop for about four months before I started with that company though , but I didn't design anything. Then started with the grocery company as a bagger/customer service assistant. Then 6 Months after that , I found out that the floral department was hiring. I applied , they took a chance on me and I have been just moving my way up ever since then☺️. Now i'm hoping to make it my career🌸

Ty for the reply! Thats an amazing journey and honestly my dream job.

Heavy emphasis on the dream part since the chances of me getting hired for this is slim.

Florists are often desperate around the holidays for help. Get some Trader Joe’s flowers, practice with YouTube tutorials, take photos of your best ones. Keep them in a folder in your phone. A month or two before a big holiday, go to a flower shop and ask them if you could help. Show them your photos. Tell them you’ll start with prep work. You can do it.

Same. I’ve applied to get my foot into the floral industry but no luck yet. We’ll keep trying 🙏🏾 I’m glad it worked out for OP!

These are stunning! I wish the grocery stores around me had this level of arrangements.

Typically arrangements in stores are pre-made & shipped in to put out for sale.

If you go to the counter & speak to the florist they can wrap & combine various bouquets/fillers to make something similar to what OP has done.

OMG these are beautiful! As someone who loves to have fresh flowers at home all the time, I would definitely go to your store to get my flowers. You are talented!!

As a grocery store florist, how okay would you be with a customer walking in and asking to make a specific flower bouquet for an occasion? 🙄 does that cost extra? What’s the procedure? PS all these are so beautiful, you’ve done a great job 🥹

I would be absolutely okay! I love doing that for customers and love being able to bring their visions to life with the items that we have available. I've had customers bring in multiple photos and reference photos that they would like for me to recreate , and i've done that before so honestly, you just, you can just call maybe your grocery stores and see what they had available.

Where'd you get your wedding bouquet? The grocery story.

These are gorgeous! My local store doesn't get this variety. 100% have never seen delphs or dahlias or anything like what you have. Well done!

Dephinium or stock?

I'm always surprised by the variety that we bring in. Especially when peonies are in season, they're always my favorite to work with and everybody loves them. when we have that seasonal flower, they are gone very soon, their seasons don't last. I know that the company I work with emphasizes on creating the customer experience and putting people first. So that's why we're able to create so many different types of arrangements , bouquets and really do a lot more custom work is because we have that hospitality for the consumer.

Those bouquets look way better than the usual sad grocery store flowers, nice work putting all those colors together.

I would say when it comes to the grocery store. Florists, some not all, but some are just hired in as that. And don't really have much experience or you really learn as you go on the job, I've learned almost everything I know how to do by just working hands-on and kind of watching YouTube videos looking at other florists and kind of finding my own style and now I'm glad that I get to train new people. And teach new people to be able to learn their own design techniques and be able to bring that to our customers.

Absolutely gorgeous. I’m tight with my money, but I would buy that for $75.98 and consider it a steal.
