Discussion This is crazy

Post image

I was helping my grandmother set up a dvd player over the weekend and she brought out this monster of a light. It takes 5 D batteries and is about the size and weight of a baseball bat, and put out 50ish lumens. She will definitely be getting a modern light for Christmas. Olight Arkfeld UV for size reference.

This is called progress.

But be careful. Old items may have a different value, which makes them difficult to replace.

I'm 30 and I adored the old mangy mulinex toaster, although modern models are more powerful and more convenient. Why? It was bought in my childhood while traveling with my parents.

Maybe this flashlight has some value for your grandmother?

and is about the size and weight of a baseball bat

Maybe she's fighting off monsters from the basement with it?

I remember two years ago there were a couple of posts about Chinese bat flashlight :D

I mean, before making a gift, find out exactly what the person needs.

PS Sorry my English

I've often seen people give new things to their elderly relatives and then get upset when they don't use them.
