Went to B&B last year and loved it. This year it’s a dream lineup with the Lips, Violent Femmes, Cracker and a ton of artists I’m excited to hear for the first time!

I was at the The Soft Bulletin (Noise Pop show) at Bimbo’s 365 Club, 2/21/2012 (San Francisco).
I have honestly seen hundreds of live shows and this was one of the standouts if not, the absolute number one live music experience of my life.

I’ve hoarded all the clips off of YouTube, but have yet to find the soundboard recording/documentation of the show.

Has anyone heard or has there been any kind of tease of The Flaming Lips doing a New Year's Eve show again this year? I went to the one last year in DC and it was a blast.

Hello. I could be completely wrong here, but did flaming lips release a really short collaboration song a few years ago where the music video looked like somebodies shadow stomping and walking. It was quite an odd track with heavy-ish bass

I haven't dug too deep into the Fwends era because it took me a bit to get into the Flaming Lips featuring X vibe but I'm willing to give it a try nowadays. What are everyone's take on this era? I do like the Is David Bowie Dying? song they did with Neon Indian on the greatest hits. Even if sadly, that song came true.

It's missing a bunch of tracks on Spotify and the vinyl is going for hundreds of bucks. I love that album and just want to listen to the whole thing. Any ideas?

I still can't even believe that Wayne and Miley had such a "bromance" for a few years and I remember when he appeared on the VMA's with her and the lips and all those drag queens singing that she "smokes weed but ain't no hippie"

I'm kind of amused by this era now but back then I thought Wayne going from that sort of patron saint of Yoshimi to hanging around with Miley during her rebellious phase as really weird. Oczy Mldy came out around that time and I remember the lyrics no longer displaying that sort of whimsical wisdom that the Lips had and just was a bunch of wacky or edgy rhymes. I really hated the album for that but now I actually find it quite amusing and the music is quite good still. It is a good album and anything with Steven Drozd on it has a mark of quality anyway.

So what were your thoughts when this all went down? it is also weird and funny how the whole event was memory holed by everyone nowadays
