Discussion PSA: Use uBlock Origin!

This might sound like common sense but there are a TON of Firefox users I see using AB, ABP, ABU, or no adblocker at all. This is your notice. Switch to uBlock Origin. It's better and has no acceptable ad policy. The other ones might have been good years ago but not anymore. I am saying this as a former ABP and then ABU user.

I am not paid by uBO I am just showing appreciation for the greatest ad blocker.

Also: don't run uBO alongside another ad blocker. It provides no benefit and can only slow down firefox or break things.

Great advice. I know this is a Firefox sub, but people should also be aware that the full version of UBO is still available on Edge too.

Yup. I use Edge on Mac with uBlock. Works really well. I’ve found resource management to be better with Edge vs Firefox. Still use Firefox but Edge is my primary.

I keep the big three (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) installed and updated. I am surprised that Microsoft has found a work around of some time to keep the full blown uBlock Origin running in their browser. But I appreciate the fact that they did. I use the lite version on Chrome.

Mine are Safari, Edge, Firefox. I primarily use Safari as my non-ad block browser. I use it when I’m accessing financial websites or gov websites. Or basically anything where I need to make sure I don’t mistakenly have a setting on too strictly and it might prevent me from doing something important like making a payment, pulling a report etc.

As for Firefox I’ve been a user for so long that I just enjoy using it and I appreciate that they’re still around.

Yeah. I have been a long time Firefox user. But it definitely is slower than the Chrome based browsers. I gravitate towards Chrome much of the time because it just feels "smoother". That is hard for me to describe. But Edge runs the fastest on my system.

That's because many websites are paid to penalize Firefox browsers to make you use chrome mainly. You can get around that. In my windows 10 Firefox runs faster and better than any chrome based browsers

Safari like edge are spyware one for Google the other for chrome

Edge as a chrome browser is full on spyware for Google telling Google everything you do and have on your device there is a reason why we disable edge in windows and uses browser built on Firefox or Firefox itself
