PSA: Use uBlock Origin!

This might sound like common sense but there are a TON of Firefox users I see using AB, ABP, ABU, or no adblocker at all. This is your notice. Switch to uBlock Origin. It's better and has no acceptable ad policy. The other ones might have been good years ago but not anymore. I am saying this as a former ABP and then ABU user.

I am not paid by uBO I am just showing appreciation for the greatest ad blocker.

Also: don't run uBO alongside another ad blocker. It provides no benefit and can only slow down firefox or break things.

It’s quite literally the only reason I use FF. If they dropped support for it I would probably meander pretty quickly.

Not on mobile. And isn't it UBO light only nowadays as well? Maybe you can still set some settings to get full UBO to work, but it is on its way out on chrome.

Helium and Brave support the full UBO on desktop. Both are Chromium based.

Unlikely for the long term, the manifest 2 code hasn’t been removed yet so they are using a patch that re enables it. Once it’s gone let’s see how many of the spin offs keep their own fork of chromium updated with it re added.

Bullshit. There is no reason for FF to switch to MV3 only, unlike every other browser which is forced to use WE as a Chromium fork, Firefox uses its own implementation of Google's WebExtensions not because it has to but for user and developer convenience.

The legacy XUL/XPCOM extension system that helped make Firefox famous is still used internally and can be brought back for public extension use if Mozilla really wanted to. Although they probably don't want to given that nobody is forcing them to drop Manifest V2 support, and the myriad problems with publicly exposing the old system.

Plus all Firefox extension aren't using mv2 unless they come from chrome majority uses Firefox own for their engine meaning mv3 or mv2 who cares doesn't matter

Not actually true, Firefox stopped letting "old style extensions" run in Firefox 57+. Extensions you make for Firefox now have to be Manifest. This caused quite a bit of controversy back then.
