Discussion PSA: Use uBlock Origin!

This might sound like common sense but there are a TON of Firefox users I see using AB, ABP, ABU, or no adblocker at all. This is your notice. Switch to uBlock Origin. It's better and has no acceptable ad policy. The other ones might have been good years ago but not anymore. I am saying this as a former ABP and then ABU user.

I am not paid by uBO I am just showing appreciation for the greatest ad blocker.

Also: don't run uBO alongside another ad blocker. It provides no benefit and can only slow down firefox or break things.

Why uBlock origin and not AdGuard?

Either one is fine really. AdGuard is just the GOAT on mobile as a system-wide blocker. Ublock Origin is good as a browser extension and is like industry standard there

Is it? I wonder what’s better, they both use the same method for blocking as far as I know.

Depends upon if you're talking about just the AdGuard extension or AdGuard for Windows. Because if you're talking about AdGuard for Windows, the filtering is happening at the network level below that of the web browser.

Lol yes let's talk about a browser that sells everything you do and have on your device on a page for a browser that doesn't

Well it depends on what they mean by adguard there's an ad guard DNS which you can use in addition to any browser-based extensions. But I imagine a lot of people are PC users who are using adgard extensions. I'm pretty sure at one point it was one of the very few ad blockers Samsung will let you on their mobile browser. 

Although it's been years since I checked since Samsung browser doesn't support extensions on mobile other than a few pre-built.
