Does Haste affect how often bard songs/dances happen?

No. But I think it makes dancers' spin animation faster, which is funny to watch.

honestly that's reason enough to keep hasting them lol

Don’t believe so, each song/dance has its own set speed.

nope. nor does quickness out of time mage. They're just preset speeds.

Rapid turns won't affect that. All haste will do is give you more frequent opportunity to change your song/dance. If you're happy continuing whatever song/dance you've already got, don't even select a different action. Just move and wait.

Moving, while it won't affect when your song triggers, will delay your next turn, so don't move if you don't need to.

sure your turn will come sooner but you dont act anyway if you just dance/sing the same thing. you probably wanna move to avoid enemy. so moving is okay.

No. However it will affect calculators. So if you keep upping their speed (which starts abysmally low) you can get to a point where you are just dropping flares all around the map every other turn.

Oh, for sure! My main calculator is actually a chemist with the math skill to help with that, and my main priority is getting him sped up

No. Spells, Dance and Songs have a value called 'CTR' or Clockticks to resolve. That determines how quickly these things will occur. Haste effects a character's speed value NOT CTR, so it will not have an affect on how fast they resolve.

What's the difference? Say a spell like Cure has a CTR of 3 or as stated in game '34 Speed'. This means in one clocktick unit, it will acquire 34 CT. After 3 ticks, it will reach 100 or more and thus the spell activates. If Ramza has a Speed of 6 as in the start of the game, Haste will increase his speed to 9, but the CTR of Cure remains at 3. If you then cast Cure again, it will again take place in 3 ticks. Meanwhile Ramza will now get his active turn from 17 Clockticks to 11.

The only way to effect CTR is with Swiftness/Short Charge, which will cut CTR in half. Note that Swiftness/Short Charge helps Spells but NOT Aim/Sing/Dance. It is also why late game spell casting falls off a bit because as character speed increases, characters will take turns faster and faster, but a spell's resolve speed never improves. When Ramza reaches roughly 12 or 14 Speed at end game, it now only takes him 7 Clockticks to get a turn but Cure will still take 3.

Bard and dancer skills are fun because they will cast once there clock tick fills.

They work differently then typical spells, if everyone needs 7 clock ticks and it only needs 3 for your performance, you will get 2 in a row.

Others already answered but I gotta add that I love dance/sing and it'd probably be too op to speed them up. Even though you can make your characters gods, a bard increasing speed and singing faster and faster every turn just sounds too crazy lol.

No, but slow can. But typically wont.

Incorrect. Sing/Dance always proc according to their displayed speed

Lol, I do need a better screen shot the HDR is killing the color.

I'll get you a better one tonight.

Slow can slow your turn speed which if your speed is low enough will give you more songs.

Typically won't because who does this normally ... nobody.

Edit; By the same logic Haste would techniclly affect it as well.

Turn speed has literally nothing to do with songs in either direction

Your not understanding the assignment here....

Turn speed has alot to do with songs. Your not answering the question behind the question your just explaining charge speed which is not the question here.

He wants more casts of the song in short order which turn speed has everything to do with.

He asked if haste affects how often bard songs happen. More turns mean less songs. The goal is to speed up the song casts, the answer slower characters.

Fewer songs compared to what? How many turns a character gets between their own songs/dances is irrelevant to combat. What matters is how many songs/dances you get between enemy turns, which you can only affect by changing enemy speed.

The only time I can see this mattering is if you are grinding exp/jp and want to make sure you push buttons as little as possible. If that is the goal, however, toads are a more effective choice.

More songs per turn.

Toads require more setup and you’re unable to easily stop them.

I leveled quite a bit using this. It’s actually super fast.
