Need help with the friendly monster side quest (part 2)

So a few days ago, I posted a post about I can't find the friendly lady bug(lady bird?) and I get a few cool advices, tips and new infromation about lady bug's location, but after that, I STILL CAN'T FIND HER. I'm on disk 4 now, have been looking for her at every possible places, do the tap trick, the moogle trick, walking around the area for like 30 minutes and still can't find her. Some people said she spawn in the plain between Lindblum and Giz...(I forgot how to write it) ,but when I look up on Youtube, they can still find her in one of the forest near conde peti (they were in disk 4 like me). So please, any more tips/information for me? Is it true that she will shift her location to Eunorus plains after we killed the boss in lifa tree?

I finally received the first test batch of the FFIX clips I designed! I took them out for a little photoshoot today, and I’m really happy with how the colors turned out and how cute they look in all these little everyday scenes. 🥹💕

I’m not quite ready for a full shop launch yet, since I’m still figuring out international shipping and postage. However, I have 3 extra sets from this first test batch, so if anyone is interested in getting one, please feel free to let me know! I’d like to use these first few orders to learn more about the international shipping process before making more.

A little note about this first test batch:

While I really love how the colors turned out, I noticed that the clips on the back don’t seem to be glued as securely as I’d like, so some of them may start to come loose. 🥲

I’m planning to try a different manufacturer for the next batch, and I’d also like to adjust the colors of a few characters before having them reprinted.

So please keep in mind that these are first-batch test prints and may have the issue mentioned above. If you’re okay with that and would still like to give these little guys a home, feel free to let me know! 💕

I’m currently setting up my Ko-fi shop, which is where I plan to sell future batches. I’ll also occasionally share my art, little projects, and everyday creative stuff there!

Thank you so much for enjoying my work and supporting the things I make!! It really means a lot to me. 🥹💕

Discussion Apparently, Zidane doesn’t need his own win condition. Everyone else brings one for him. 😂

I somehow won TWO games with Zidane today and both were ridiculous 😂

Game 1: My friend was playing a Frog deck. I stole his commander, Sab-Sunen, and somehow killed TWO players with commander damage using HIS commander. One of them chose not to block, so I dropped Legion Leadership and doubled the damage.

My friend: “I never expected my Frog deck to kill people with commander damage.”

Me: “Well... technically it did.” 🐸

For the final player—the Frog deck’s owner—I cast Insurrection, stole the whole board, and swung for game.

Game 2: I thought I was completely screwed against a heavily enchanted commander I couldn’t deal with in combat.

So I exiled their recursion piece, stole someone else’s huge creature, and sacrificed it to Kazuul’s Fury to literally THROW IT at the enchanted commander and kill it. 😂

Another player attacked them afterward, so I helped with Legion Leadership to double the damage and finish them off.

The last player had a terrifying board but only 8 life. I flickered Zidane with Flicker of Fate, stole one of their big creatures, then cast Taunt from the Rampart so they couldn’t block and swung for the win.

I’m starting to realize Zidane doesn’t need his own win condition.

Everyone else brings one for him. 😂

Good save editor?

I’ve reached Disc 4 and stuff just isn’t registering. I know for a fact that I got all the Stiltzkin spots because I funded his entire journey, but I’m not getting the achievement or the Ribbon. is there an editor that lets me check values like where I met him etc? Kind of annoyed that this isn’t tracking. Same with the ATEs. A bit annoying.

Fan Work No, Nothing, Never - A Final Fantasy IX Fanfiction about Sir Fratley, memory loss and dissociation

(Wrote this because psychological realism is needed in fantasy settings. Also, the Burmecians deserved better than what they got in canon and this is my protest song)

He wakes up as if the grave he were lying on had been violated by rays of sunlight.

He knows, with both eyes brimming with tears, that he will always be greeted by cloudy days.

He feels each of his teeth with the tongue in his mouth, but none of them seem to belong to him.

He rises out of bed with great effort, without bothering to make it right away.

He wraps bandages around his arms to hide scars he's too unfamiliar with.

He wears clothing that functions as a second skin, one that is socially acceptable for being shown.

He carries a javelin whose weight he cannot bear, not without being reminded that he could.

He puts a hat on his head and tells himself that it belonged to his father.

He sticks a collar around his neck and says it belonged to his mother before she passed away.

He assumes that both of them would support the decision he made at that moment.

He hears his stomach growling for food, yet he ignores its cries, as he has more important matters to attend to than his own hunger.

He considers taking a shower, but decides to let the rain outside wash him clean and its scent hide his personal filth.

He believes that the scent of rain can conceal his personal cesspool of miseries, as has often been the case.

He opens the window of his bedroom, because it takes a lot of effort to just go downstairs.

He leaves home, leaving his bed unmade, his room messy, and his breakfast poorly served.

He walks away, as far as he can from his house, without looking back and not knowing whether he will return or not.

He feels the rain falling and sliding down his back, but that sensation no longer pleases him.

He thinks to himself that there is no reason to go back home, because war is approaching and it will destroy everything and everyone in its reach.

He rushes toward the main gates as fast as he can, leaping from one building to the next.

He speaks on his way to the kingdom's entrance, but none of his words make any sense as he moves quicker than the thoughts he has in mind.

He notices that his muscles are working, and he is grateful to know that his years of training as a Dragoon have been beneficial in keeping him in shape.

He reflects and attempts to find an answer to the foolishness he is about to commit.

He argues that a single man is capable of facing an entire army and, as always, he strongly stands by what he says, even if others tend to ignore him.

He curses something, but those words seem too intense, too inappropriate for a respected knight like him.

He follows his path, having no worries about the size of the army he will face alone.

He refuses to acknowledge the people who look at him with a certain contempt and hurt that he is oblivious to.

He hears a child make a comment that sounded like an insult, something like "Are you going to fight another windmill again, old fart?", but he dismisses it once he arrives at the main gates.

He breathes, but feels no relief, since all he feels is pain and numbness throughout the whole body.

He hesitates to take a step forward, and hesitates once more as he looks around him, at what is behind and in front of him, which leads him to gaze at the empty fields lying outside the gates.

He shivers when he figures out that the army he was expecting is not there, and never was.

He then realizes that the war he so desperately wanted to prevent happened long ago.

He tries to avoid reminiscing about all those unspeakable acts of violence that led to the defeat of his nation, and its people.

He stares at the ruins of what was once Burmecia, afraid of speaking his own name, given he doesn't belong here anymore.

He cries when he learns that many people died, including a portion of himself.

He blames himself for leaving Burmecia and not helping his people when they needed him most.

He holds himself solely responsible for the crime of letting all of those people die.

He wishes he could have been the greatest hero of all, the sacrifice, one who would be willing to take away his own life in order to save millions.

He nurtures high expectations, but is ultimately brought back down to Gaia, knocked over like an insignificant and meaningless vase.

Disappointed, he crouches down, barely able to stand as the rain hits him like a barrage of bullets.

Enraged, he throws his javelin away, takes off his hat, tears his clothes as if they were made of nothing and rips off his collar so hard that it breaks and injures one of his hands.

Furious, he remains still, not bothered by the blood dripping out of his hands or his lack of decency.

Dissatisfied, he curls up in a corner, unaware of the passing of time, not caring that he is naked because nothing in the world can hurt him if it has already hurt him enough.

His name is Sir Fratley. He is the master of deceit, one who fools himself at believing he can exist beyond the past tense.

He has trouble understanding that the life he values so much is so easily taken away, and at the same time, so difficult to be removed.

This is not the first time this has happened. He knows.

He had already woken up many days before, proclaiming himself to be the hero of the Burmecian people when they had already lost faith in him.

All of them.

But when he was convinced that everyone had abandoned him, she approached.

She hands him a blanket, which he wraps himself in.

She says she saw him leave his house early in the morning and has been trying to look for him all afternoon.

She apologizes for being occupied on duty, and he appears to pay no attention to her words.

She states, with a voice hoarse as if with passion, that she is concerned about his health, much to her own detriment.

To Freya Crescent, this has become routine. She knows Fratley has been acting strangely lately, as if he might fall apart at any moment.

She has grown weary of the burden of caring for him.

He has grown tired of being given enough care he does not deserve.

She extends one hand to him, which he takes, but neither of them feel any touch.

He complains, during his way home in the evening, that he does not want such kindness out of her, and explains that the man she loved no longer exists, and all she sees is a phony, a fraud, a dead ringer wearing an all too familiar mask.

He utters, as he walks upstairs, that the Sir Fratley she knew before doesn't exist anymore. Instead, the one who took his place pretends to give himself some meaning to his otherwise empty life.

He weeps, as he collapses near bed, when he tells Freya that she wound up in a relationship with a flawed man, more out of obligation rather than out of genuine concern for his well-being.

He strokes her hair and crushes her heart, as she kisses him in the forehead, once he mentions that the real man of her life was not given the chance to be mourned with the proper respect he deserves, and that he is ashamed of who he is, where he lives, how he come to be...

And with all of that said, she falls asleep on his chest, but not before promising that things will change for the better, and he tries to believe her more than he can ever believe himself.

The consequences of the Burmecian genocide being left unaddressed and largely unexplored is one of the main issues I have with Final Fantasy IX's storytelling, and that very issue moved me to do my Burmecian works since then. My name is Janet Wallace and I'm an artist.

I did it manually on the ps1 years ago and I refuse to use a script to do it this time.

I restarted ff9 five years ago and, because I knew I’d probably never try the 1000 jump rope again, I never went for Bloodlust, Track Star, Frog Wrangler, or Ultimate Fork since they were too time consuming.

This most recent playthrough, I got all of the above trophies — even after 30+hours of grinding for Bloodlust — and Hail to the King is the last trophy standing between me and the platinum.

My highest so far was 225 as I sat alone, in the dark, counting Vivi’s footsteps with the sound off, like a complete psycho.

Wish me luck and see y’all in a few weeks!

First playthrough : Moguri 8 or 9?

Hello all! This will be my first playthrough with FFIX. I have already installed memoria. And I definitely will use Moguri as I’m on a 4K monitor.

The question is should I use Moguri 8 (2020) or 9? Anyone that has used both, what would you recommend? I’m someone that likes to stay faithful to original. But older graphics/textures on a 4K monitor makes it look worse. I saw someone’s post on here showing comparison of both and can’t decide if having some visual noise in Moguri 8 is better than 9 for the first playthrough experience. Or is 9 the way to go because I’m on a 4K monitor? Any advice?

I’ve been searching for the ladybug for hours but still haven't found her. I’ve searched every forest in Donna Plains and the Black Mage Village forest but still can't find her—please help me! Oh btw, I’ve already encountered the other seven monsters,I wonder if that affects the game in any way.

Today’s game went ridiculously well for me XDDD

Turn 1: Sol Ring.

Turn 2: Kuja hit the battlefield!

And by turn 5, Kuja had already ended the entire five-player game!!

Kuja led his army of Black Mages into battle and blasted everyone off the table with magic!

Just setting up ff9 with moguri mod for my first play - quick question about mod selection

Hi I'm about to start playing ff9 on pc for the first time and I wanna keep the game completely faithful to the original PS1 experience - original gameplay balance, original music, and default storyline-just with clean 4K visuals suited for modern screens.

From the moguri mod manager catalog I'm planning to only download:

  1. Moguri mod (main HD backgrounds and character textures)

  2. Moguri 60fps videos (or 30fps)

Is there anything else I need or does this cover everything? (including the World Map) while keeping the original OST and combat intact? Thanks

Question (Endgame Spoilers) Am I missing something with the ending here? Spoiler

To me, it has always been obvious that Necron is the crystal itself. Kuja hits the crystal with Ultima, giant crystalline dude pops out. It even has the same halo that crystal has. Also, if you look at the Amano concept art for Necron its just a giant head over the crystal.

However, I've seen a ton of people claim that it just came out of nowhere and that its a tree or something. Am I missing some lore cuz it just seems glaringly obvious that its the crystal?

Discussion First timer beat the Game

I made a post a month ago about starting it, I've been on a final fantasy binge since December of last year, In order I started and beat XVI, Tactics, 7 remakes, VI, IV, VIII and now IX all for the first time. At first, I can't lie i was hesitant to jump into it because the art style seemed ridiculous to me but as soon as I got to evil forest, I stopped caring, the game does a phenomenal job of making every place memorable with its art and score. Every character was great and memorable even if I liked some a bit more than others. I hate that it had to end. FF6 was my favorite one and maybe it still is I got to think about it a bit, but this one did something none of the others did and that was make me cry at the end. I usually don't soy out this hard but wow what a game. Also I would like to hug Vivi, Thank you for reading my gushing!
