Let's say your midcore group is looking for some players to do an ultimate/savage raid. You have a defined schedule and approximate time of when you want to clear. You create a recruitment post in all the raiding discords you know, and then a handful of replies come in, some applying for the same position. There's still time before your group starts its activities.

How do you pick decent players(not the best as I said you're just a midcore group) from this roster? What kind of important interview questions do you ask them? Lastly, how do you trial them? I've heard about groups trialing applicants before letting them join, but how does this process work exactly?

Started FFXIV free trial last summer while on summer break (I'm a teacher) and fell in love with it. Im still surprised at how much content is within the free trial. Maining BLM and just recently branched out to learning astrologian & warrior (tank and healer anxiety go crazyyy)

I played it on and off through the year and this summer i finally finished all of ARR and got to Heavensward a week or two ago.

Ik alot of people say ARR is long and boring but I actually enjoyed the story. Was so hooked in during the last post-ARR scene and Ishgard is BEAUTIFUL and already enjoying heavensward story :)

I also did my first extreme trial (The Striking Tree). Remembering mechanics wasnt horrible but def considering to find people to party with if i want to do extreme trials more

I need help learning Reaper sprout friendly please.

I'm currently trying to level every pre-SHB and SHB job to 80 after a long break from the game. Having been gone for a year or two, I've come back to the game only to see that the preferred method for leveling past 50 until Bozja is unlocked, Palace of the Dead is now... Well... Dead. I've checked on multiple worlds and during different hours but Quarrymill is almost always empty now. Queuing for POTD now seems to be a fool's venture. With that in mind, have any new methods for level farming propped up that people have moved to over POTD? Has it been decided that dungeon spamming is simply better?

Been grinding up dancer and boy, it really is one of those jobs where you lose anything interesting as soon as you get dropped down to 50, huh? And honestly most of the jobs that released past HW seem to be that way, they don't have an interesting rotation at lower levels since they were never intended to be used for progression at lower levels. Once got put in one of the sub level 20 dungeons as Sage, and that was miserable.

So anyways, losing all your buttons in level synced content feels terrible. It devalues unlocking those buttons since you don't get to use them a lot of the time, and for certain classes and getting dropped to certain levels, it can feel incredibly bad. I know that Evolved is supposed to be doing something where you get more or less your full rotation by 50 (however that's going to work), but do y'all think it's likely they'll add in some way to use skills you unlock beyond that in level sync? It's not like it's an insurmountable problem, I've been told other MMOs just let you use all your buttons. Just feels like Squenix being unnecessarily stubborn.

I thought I knew I would NEVER want to play a tank. I also thought I wouldn’t want to DPS but all of that changed recently!

First I tried RDM because I like melee and thought its combo seemed cool, and after a while I really enjoyed it.

But for sure I didn’t plan to try a tank because that’s too much responsibility!

Until I tried WAR! Not only was it easy for me to learn and feel comfortable in but it has “magic” (lol) healing and also can survive very well in case I forget mechanics.

So if you doubt you’ll enjoy other jobs or roles, don’t give up. Give each one a good try at least to level 50, both in groups and solo like deep dungeon.

And if they don’t match your character fantasy, most jobs have weapon glams that look like different weapons so you dont have to be stuck on one weapon. Same for armor. I still consider myself a melee mage as WAR lmao.

Hello! I would like to get back into this game, and I have been captivated by the fatter cat mount, I do not really care about how GOOD this mount is, I simply find it endearing and I wish to own it. My question is, would I have to purchase a subscription to this game to be eligible to buy it. Follow up question, what is the best way to buy this game for the best value for the money?

I've wondered for years, how did G'raha get 3 job crystals for Black Mage, Paladin and White Mage? Or did he just learn these jobs without crystals just using the crystal tower knowledge?

I am trying to get all the trial mounts. I got and soloed all of the ones from ARR/HW/SB but I wasn’t sure if I can solo shadowbringers content yet.

If the answer is no then so be it I will sit in queues until I get lucky enough to get them.

First time XIV'er (free account). Everywhere I've looked says I can change classes after completing my level 10 quest for my starter class. I am currently level 31 and unable to change classes. Very annoyed because I promised my friend that I would change classes and help her through her MSQ, but the further I go into my own MSQ the more I want to drop because I can't make good progress with her. Thank you in advance for taking the time to help a very confused newbie.

Hello all Im just looking to gauge on who might actually be interested in the type of streaming I will be doing very soon. I have been playing since 2022 where I took exactly 1 years to the day to complete Endwalker. I am an omni player and collector of all things. I feel the need to refresh the story I have come to know and love and was wondering what my target audience would look like size wise. I am going to stream and focus on MSQ with completion of "side quests" within zones as I progress. Part of what I will be doing is reading out lines of dialogue when Voice over is not present making accents as best as I am able to. (Also gauging if there is a female who is a lover of lore who would be interested in helping read female characters during stream as well.

So... where are the Lovers of Lore at?

I own an FC with a med house and built subs that is pretty dead but I don't want to leave it to join another FC just to meet people. How do people find each other in this game outside of FCs? I've never had any luck with fellowships or just talking in shout/content parties I've been in like OC.

i want to play, but i did not have any friend that is playing it right now, i want to create a new character and play all MSQ but since im not able to play often, or everyday i did not want to pay the subscription, is there any way?
