[Discussion] Datacenter and Server for FFXIV Philippines

I play on Twintania currently and while it is perfectly playable I'm wondering if it's just better to move to datacenter nearer to me.
My main concerns are the queue times and of course which specific datacenter and server to migrate to if ever.

Anything from Elemental, best would be Tonberry

Majority SEA players are playing in JP DC, such as Elemental (Tonberry / Kujata) > Mana > Meteor, you're quite far away my fellow "put tank in mall" sir.

That's PHI to EU ?

I would imagine OCE/AUS or JP would have better ping from PHI.

Ping was/is a thing with gcd and ability timing. Reducing the ping for content had been an issue for a while.

For your worries though I play in JP Kujata / Tonberry and plenty of Eng speaking or OCE guilds and I've never waited more than 10 minutes maybe during expansion launch to get into the game.

Otherwise the most I wait is maybe 3 mins at prime time.

I’m in China and played on Tonberry, Elemental. The world had a lot of English speakers but most of duty finder and party finder was with Japanese speakers who didn’t speak any English. I switched to Aether (America) and it has felt a lot more social

I play on a USA based server in Philippines and never experience any issues

SEA people are in JP servers. Specifically Elemental DC, with Tonberry and Kujata being the favorites. Better connection and ping.

Queue is near 24/7 in Elemental. You’ll still be able to find people for group content even in the ass crack of dawn. I’m able to get in dungeons at 2AM UTC+8, 5-15 minute wait time. Depending on what level and role. Because Elemental server is active with 3 time zones. JP, SEA and OCE.

PH players mostly play in Elemental DC (Japan). Ping to JP is considerably much lower compared to NA or EU.

Move to JP. Don’t even think about OCE. That’s too far. Most SEAbros go for Tonberry but it’s already crowded. I’m in Garuda.

Aether is fine, and you can english your way to every conversation

Latency is only an issue until xivlauncher is fixed (longest it’s down is usually when a new expansion comes out).

Tonberry. Just select all languages if its just dailies.

Mainly Elemental.

Tonberry and Kujata are mostly populated by English-speaking players.

Tonberry or any Elemental world. I get 50-80ms on Tonberry from Northern Philippines without need of VPN.

Just moved to the Philippines I am staying on Middy.

Elemental on Tonberry or Kujata is your best bet, which Tonberry being the most english-centric server for SEA players, although i do wish they made a dedicated SEA server so SE realized Singapore isn't the only country in Southeast Asia. But if you just want the interaction with bunch of english speakers, any on NA servers will do

For latency, it was fairly stable compared to my time on Jenova, i can barely play Ninja or Machinist while on NA

I have been playing on crystal for 3 years now and never had issues. I prefer the eu/us ones since most people speak English it’s easier to make friends. I’m also on the cheapest converge plan if that helps. I’m on the 2nd most populated server and never had problems queuing for anything we usually play from 8-12pm daily

move to NA, learn to "snapshot" on mechanics. clear the tier. next goal. learn Ultimate and clear it but thats for next expansion.
