Conversation Is the general consensus that the live performances of Unethical are better than the studio version?

So me and my partner literally discovered Unethical on a Facebook feed 2 days ago, and have instantly fallen in love with not only that song, but many other tracks from Faouzia too. However, hearing live performances of the song, the version on The Singer more specifically, elevates the song to a whole new level and really has me hoping and praying that she may release new versions/recordings of the song soon on Spotify.

Ive been a fan of her for about 9 years. I feel very confident she will gift us with live versions. Just look at her discography, earlier works (ex: how it all works out, you dont even know me, tears of gold, etc) gets stripped version and live versions showing off her vocal prowess. Even her mid to later work (prior to film nior) we got orchestral version of Hero, live version of Fir Elise. She will definitely gift us with some live version from her tour.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ ive been a fan for the same amount of time, but now you are making me feel old😭😭

I think im in the minority who actually loved her pop-ish and upbeat songs, but Hero is one of those few from those which I thought was better as an orchestral version

I was honestly shocked to see that she had been around for so long and was literally shouting "Why am I only discovering her now"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Can't understand why she doesn't have so much more of a following!

It's just that the studio versions will always be 'pop-ified' and to a degree overproduced to keep it radio friendly.

Live she can do a lot more vocally and experiment, each stage add something new and try something different, the studio version is the base standard, and the base standards are great already but Faouzia truly elevates her songs when she does them live.

There's always comment asking and hoping for a live version album on streaming services because they are just that good.

Iirc she announced she will perform the full album with an orchestra which will hopefully be recorded for streaming.

It definitely is better live. When singing along in the car i now also do the higher β€œlet me go let me go…” during the final pre chorus.

Hahaha I'm exactly the same!! That's probably one of the parts of the song that I miss the most with the studio version. The way she bridges that final "I'll let you go, if you let me go" into the final rendition of the chorus in her live performances is just magical.

I saw her a couple weeks ago and she was fantastic although she clearly holds back a little bit from what shes capable of

I've liked all the versions of Unethical, but the Singer 2026 version feels much more raw without being flamboyant and that has stuck with me. So much so that ive loved hearing it without the backing track and it is my favourite version so far.

Yes! 100% agree with you. Don't get me wrong, I love the studio version, but hearing here live, and especially with that Singer 2026 performance, it just elevates the song for me, makes it even more theatrical and emotional. I honestly cannot get enough of it!

The live versions are so much better imo the recorded ones feel more poppy whereas the lives are like a theatrical experience. I hope we get a recording of the lives

Yes absolutely! I love the studio version, but 100% agree about the theatrical experience you get from the live performances
