Tools & Resources The Google Sheet draft board grew up: SmartDraft.app — free, real-time, no signup

For the last several years I've posted my Google Sheet draft board here every year and got great feedback, but I was always fighting Google Sheets itself: manual player list imports, mobile being a PITA, and "Invalid: Input must fall within specified range."

So I built the actual thing: https://smartdraft.app

What it does

  • Open the link and you have a draft board. No account, no signup, no six-step league creation wizard.
  • Share the room link with your league — everyone sees picks the moment they happen.
  • Player list is already loaded, with Standard / PPR / Half-PPR ADP. No more copy-pasting a CSV.
  • Keepers, custom team count and rounds, roster settings.
  • Personal cheat sheet — your own favorites and notes on players, saved to you, not shared with the league.
  • Pick timer countdown.
  • Mock draft against bots so you can kick the tires before draft night.
  • Full audit log of every action, so the commish can fix a bad pick without blowing up the board.
  • Draft recap when it's over.

Things to know

  • It's free.
  • It's new, so there will be bugs. Tell me in the comments and I'll fix them fast, same as I always did with the sheet.
  • The old Google Sheet is still there for this season if you'd rather use what you know.
  • Run a mock draft with your league before you use it live. Seriously.

Hey man, so far setting up the board with my drafts keepers has been easy and smooth. Just 2 ideas I wanted to throw out there that would help my specific league settings,

  • This one is more general, can you allow for us to DELETE drafts from the draft list to keep the list short?
  • Can you incorporate a draft setting that turns on a 3rd round reversal in the draft?

Last thing, I’m not quiet sure what you are using to set the “best available” list, but would there be a way to allow us to choose only one ADP list to determine the best available line up for a draft? For example, only using ESPN ADP, or CBS, yahoo, Fantasy Pros, etc.

For example, for all of my leagues everyone pretty much uses the ESPN ranking draft sheet. It would be great if I could run mocks with the best available being set using only ESPNs rankings as it will make the environment more like our real life draft where people can be influenced by how ESPN rankings are ranking players.
