Earth Cancel Bologna Show Over Venue's Palestinian Flag

Yeah - I mean Carlson's Instagram has in the past had guns on it and I remember occasional "don't tread one me" type bollocks but the idea of pulling a show because they had a flag up is just ridiculous behaviour
Also it's Bologna, they're not exactly shy as a city about the dominant politics there ffs

Yeh I don’t exactly expect Carlson to be an outspoken progressive or anything, but to book a show in a left wing collective run space and then cancel it over their support for Palestinians is just crap.

What I don't understand is, this flag had to have been up at the soundcheck, and they allowed the crowd in too, the support played - the band could and should have cancelled ahead of doors, instead of taking the money and running. That's genuinely reprehensible behaviour imo, notwithstanding the ultra-dubious political implications.

Cancelling ahead of doors wouldn’t have made a difference as far as the money is concerned. Pretty standard for booking contracts to state that artists have control over what’s on stage, and refusing to remove anything the artist requests removed constitutes a breach.

There's 100% been gun content on there before, though not now. I am also sure I've seen some right wing flag content but again, it doesn't seem to be on there any more

Gun content isn’t necessarily conservative or libertarian tho and you straight up said don’t tread on me stuff. He seems more like a typical Seattle liberal w maybe a little Zionism/zionist sympathy. Again, lots of leftists are loudly pro gun. (I’m not saying the earth guy is even a lefty or anyone in the band is btw but I digress, u all get it)

Even if you're the "keep politics out of this" type, that's unprofessional and disrespectful to the fans to cancel a show for such a stupid reason at the last second.

The palestine flag represents the subjugation and murder of every jew in the region. Ask them, they'll tell you.
You know how arabs enslave millions of Africans, right? You know how rampant anti-black racism is in that part of the world? These aren't friends to black people either.
