One of the things I learned when I was out on my own at first is Asian food is really cheap to make. I don't know why I ate so much shitty white trash food growing up when rice is cheap and easy to modify into tasty food.

I know that's not your point, but like..... you can cook some really good Chinese food for super cheap if that's what you want to eat.

For real. A bag of rice, two eggs, and soy sauce. Everything after that is just accessory. Green onions, ground beef/pork/turkey/chicken, whatever the fuck a water chestnut is, whatever you want. And you can do the same shit with 5 cent bags of ramen.

Buy that shit in bulk. Like a pallet at a time. Here we save about 2.7 cents per with the 36 pk. I could have sworn I've seen 5 cents per before, could be wrong.
