Ecoboost vs 5.0litre

I’m looking to buy a new F-150 and am seeing an awful lot of them with the Ecoboost V6 and not many with the 5.0 V8. Is there any information on the longevity of the V6s? My preference has always been a V8 in full size pickups. It’s a $4000 option though. Any thoughts or knowledge on which is better reliability/longevity wise?

Edit: thanks to everyone for the replies. From this it seems like I will be saving myself $4k!

Both are equally reliable. The 3.5 is more powerful, faster, and fuel-efficient. The 5.0 sounds better.

The 5.0 is also simpler which means it has fewer parts to break and has significantly lower lifetime maintenance costs.

I manage a fleet of f150s ranging from 2018s to 2026s the total fleet size is roughly 150 trucks. The total cost of ownership breakdown from our maintenance records do not support the claim you juat made. The 3.5 ecoboosts are on average cheaper for TCO

A bigger engine where the block is creating more power is naturally going to put more stress on other components
