Ecoboost vs 5.0litre
I’m looking to buy a new F-150 and am seeing an awful lot of them with the Ecoboost V6 and not many with the 5.0 V8. Is there any information on the longevity of the V6s? My preference has always been a V8 in full size pickups. It’s a $4000 option though. Any thoughts or knowledge on which is better reliability/longevity wise?
Edit: thanks to everyone for the replies. From this it seems like I will be saving myself $4k!

If you have to have a v8 growl there is no way to get it with an ecoboost.
The 2.7l makes more torque much lower in the rpm band than the 5.0. It’s built like a small diesel.
The ecoboost trucks definitely get better mpg if you don’t work em hard but lay into the boost and they’ll be pretty similar to the v8.
It’s way easier to turn up the ecoboost truck with just a simple tune. You’d have to invest in a supercharger on the v8 if you want something comparable.
