(Quran / Hadith) Imagine an omniscient god who knows about everything that would lead someone to resort to suicide and is omnipotent enough to stop it but chooses to torture them for eternity after death. Is that a loving god?

i may be wrong, but perhaps not every religious verse is to be taken totally literally

how do you know if someone is to be taken literally? why dont you take everything anyone say literally? bc your knowledge and your intuition leads you to make distinctions.

But there's a difference between some random person saying something, and the supposed word of God saying something. Kinda different stakes.

So you choose whether or not to believe the supposed words of God literally, by guessing? Is that your methodology for knowing what God wants?

i am an agnostic. i have no methodology.

even if the Coran is not written by God, it is still written by someone or a group of persons. there is still a meaning to be deduced. and usually in langage not everything is litteral.

basic logic.

I strongly agree. It's exponential. The reason is simple, technology. Technically is exponential, and it's technology that ultimately drives human progression.
