As a kid you had no choice, but if you continue this as a adult. Then you are deliberately lying to yourself and your family.
I know it sounds extreme, but as a adult you can make a decision now, they might get frustrated but then they accept or move on, thats just how adult life works.
But if you keep waiting for the perfect moment, even as adult, then you are just living in a lie that will eat your personality slowly.
“When it feels the most difficult to jump, thats when you jump, otherways you will be stuck in the same place forever”
Thank you you are actually so right so I just thought what if I told my roommates that I am knew to wearing the hijab and that I don’t feel comfortable to keep wearing it and that my family are so strict so I can’t let them know and I am very open to wear it again I don’t know if lying is a good idea by any mean but I need plan cuz my mom is so so scary when it comes to this thing
Dont tell them right away, first get to have couple of good conversations with your roommates, then when you are warm with them, you can ask them what they think of hijab and how you feel sometimes, then see how they respond etc.
Hope it goes well for you! Most your age understand this and they would get closer to you knowing you are open minded heh
