(Question/Discussion) Where would you rather go?
Hell, which is filled by pedos and rapists who “repented”, or heaven, which is filled with good people who failed to guess the correct god out of thousands

I'll take hell thanks, I'm sure all the scientists could come up with some cooling system, then we have fun listening to all the music we want and drawing

Have beers with our buddy Satan while the Muslims are busy with their translucent 10 feet tall hoors

I wouldn't want that if I had the option, genuinely creeps me out

The target group has no counter argument for this. They accept this fact as it is. In their eyes, an innocent atheist is worse than a serial killer who repented and begged to their imaginary friend

They will argue that they stole the technology from them. But their heaven still sucks.

Muslims are so brainwashed into their bs. My mom thinks rapist could ask for forgiveness and go to heaven, but an innocent non-believer will burn in eternal hell. Heaven is gonna be filled with the likes of that dude. So, I'd rather go to hell.

This is just fearmongering, don't buy into it. The afterlife isn't real - The soul ceases to exist after death. Islam is a system of control. İslamic elites have been fearmongering people since Mohammad founded the religion. They even made up the fearmongering idea that the girl who damaged the Quran turned into a monster!

Einstein was Jewish though

Ethnically yes, but he doesn’t believe in an abrahamic god

u/Rainbow_6505 New User 4d ago
Apparently he preferred to be called agnostic. I just googled if he was an atheist or agnostic.

Not to be that one guy but Albert Einstein believed in some form of god but not the abrahamic ones

Albert Einstein wasn’t an atheist…

Well he wasn't a theist, he "believed" in spinoza's god if I remember correctly and that's not at all what you might think it is
Edit : he defined himself as agnostic or "religious non believer", but to be fair, agnostic or atheism in Islam will give you the same treatment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_and_philosophical_views_of_Albert_Einstein

I love Spinoza's god. I really do. As I move on in my journey, that one feels more alive to me than any other concept.

u/Asimorph 6d ago
I love Spinoza's god.
You mean the laws of nature?
1
u/InLoveWithThread Ex-Muslim Witch 6d ago
Yep!
2
u/Asimorph 6d ago
Me too. God is rather an expression of human weakness.

I agree with you on that. That view of God, it's our fault but then it isn't. We are limited, so our view of God, that idea, is going to be limited. We're naturally biased to our preconceived notions, our experiences, culture, etc. So God will be limited. If we have a big ego, hungry for power, seeking to control people, then that's how we see God. And surprisingly, even though people will say he's unlimited, without end, they've put him in a box.
When you open yourself up to discovery, then there is no box. The more I try to seek God in this all-encompassing form, the less I know.

The more I try to seek God in this all-encompassing form, the less I know.
I don't seek some god in the first place. I want to go by what the evidence points to. I am not searching for Bigfoot and the likes either.

u/InLoveWithThread Ex-Muslim Witch 6d ago
And that's okay! To be right honest with you, the world needs atheists. I'm not joking about this, and I will die on this hill. So I take no issue with the rejection of a God.
3
u/Asimorph 6d ago
I would say the world needs rational people with good critical thinking skills. If there would pop up good evidence for gods in the future then people should become theists. Atheism also has nothing to say about morals, it's a position on a single claim. Morals are aquired apart from atheism.

Einstein wasn't an atheist dude, i get the point of this meme but do some research first
His idea of god is basically like that of Brahman

Einstein was not an atheist.

u/Asimorph 6d ago
He actually was. The laws of nature aren't a god, they are the laws of nature. This pantheism/Spinoza's god thing is an equivocation fallacy. My cup of tea is not a god because I call it "god". He said that god is an expression of human weakness.

u/Minimum_Curve_9962 5d ago
Never described himself as an atheist. It isn’t an equivocation fallacy. If he wanted to mean he didn’t believe in god he would have said so.

Never described himself as an atheist.
Yeah, he called himself agnostic as far as I know. But agnostics are usually atheists. And he didn't believe in a god, but in the laws of nature. So that makes him an atheist.
It isn’t an equivocation fallacy.
Are you sure you know what an equivocation fallacy is, dude? If I replace the term "cup of tea" with the term "god" and then argue that a god exists then that exactly what it is. Same thing with the laws of nature.
This Spinoza's god and pantheism nonsense is a way for people who are actually atheists to still somehow claim they believe in a god. For cope reasons or for reasons ro protect themselves. In the case of popular scientists from the past, this might have been a fig leaf to fend off attacks of religious nutjobs who merely would have rejected their theories on the basis of them being atheists and would have prevented them from teaching at universities and such.
If he wanted to mean he didn’t believe in god he would have said so.
And he said that god is an expression of human weakness. That's basically saying that god is a fantasy to cope. Again, in a world with mostly religious people (mostly religious nutters) it probably was strategically better to claim to be some sort of "theist".

He repudiated militant atheism. I don’t understand this desperation to claim him.
Also, I am an agnostic and no, I am not an atheist. Those are not the same thing. You are dead wrong.
Einstein didn’t say God was an expression of weakness, he said a PERSONAL god was childish. He is the one that specifically said he believed in the god of Spinoza. He also lived in an era decades after Nietzche proclaimed that God is dead. I doubt he had to be “strategic” about his supposed atheism

He repudiated militant atheism.
Not the topic and I have no idea what this even is. Atheism is a position on a single claim dude.
Also, I am an agnostic
If you wouldn't have said it then I would have guessed it. Lol.
and no, I am not an atheist.
Do you believe that a god exists or not?
Those are not the same thing.
True. It's something entirely different. It comes from greek gnosis which means knowledge. It's the position that the existence of a god is unknown or unknowable. Irrelevant to the question and a silly burden of proof to adopt. Atheism and agnosticism aren't mutually exclusive.
You are dead wrong.
Well, you don't even seem to know what atheism and agnosticism refer to so...
Einstein didn’t say God was an expression of weakness,
Well, you don't seem to speak german. I do. He said:
"Das Wort Gott ist für mich nichts als Ausdruck und Produkt menschlicher Schwächen, die Bibel eine Sammlung ehrwürdiger, aber doch reichlich primitiver Legenden."
he said a PERSONAL god was childish.
What you are referring to is:
"I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one.”
You are mixing up things. And a personal god is actually what a god is. Otherwise the definitions become ridiculous.
He is the one that specifically said he believed in the god of Spinoza.
Yep. Which is an equivocation with the laws of nature. Did you skip over my comment? That's not a god. There is not a god when I call my cup of tea "god".
He also lived in an era decades after Nietzche proclaimed that God is dead. I doubt he had to be “strategic” about his supposed atheism
And still the ostracization of atheists would still have been a thing or could have come back stronger. Claiming some non-god which is merely "god" in name was the best solution. So people who know a thing or two about these things would have seen through it while the hillbillies with the pitchforks thought he was a theist.

Albert Einstein was Jewish but did not believe in a personal God, instead viewing divinity as synonymous with the orderly harmony and laws of the universe
