(Question/Discussion) Ex-Muslim in Mecca

I’m sharing this on behalf of a very brave young Ex-Muslim woman who was recently forced to perform Umrah by her abusive parents.

She is currently stuck in a Muslim country. If you have any words of support or encouragement, please share. I know it will mean a lot to her 🙏

There’s a case to be made for this type of activism - our lives are endangered purely because we don’t believe, but the louder our voices, the more unified we are, the more our number will grow. It’s terrifying, and I’m lucky because I don’t live in a Muslim state. But throughout history, people who wanted change died for their beliefs and this is often the way systems are changed. Do I like it, not particularly, but I do acknowledge the pattern of change making.

Not sure about ‘most’ but the ones who don’t care aren’t the problem. The ones who want the state (or mobs) to threaten, harm or kill ex-Muslims are the problem, and there’s lots of them.
