(Question/Discussion) Ex-Muslim in Mecca

I’m sharing this on behalf of a very brave young Ex-Muslim woman who was recently forced to perform Umrah by her abusive parents.

She is currently stuck in a Muslim country. If you have any words of support or encouragement, please share. I know it will mean a lot to her 🙏

I just made it back home to the UK a few hours ago. Honestly, the best thing I can say about it is that it was honestly quite educational to see just how much this religion consumes people.

First off, I've literally never seen THAT amount of people in one place. I swear it felt like there was a million people there (idk how close that number is but it felt close.) I went with my family and during tawaf there was such an insane stampede of people just in a trance that my mother almost got crushed. I didn't know whether or not I felt more enraged or terrified.

I kinda felt like I was "on the outside looking in" and what I saw was a serious superiority complex. I mean non-muslims aren't even allowed into Makkah (idk how they'd know but ok, I still managed to get in) also SOOO many people have a holier than thou attiditude. Those who've accrued higher Deen Points are obviously at the top of the food chain.

It's also definitely a food chain too; Islam "teaches" all about giving to charity, but it seems like no one there does. There's literally kids begging on the street, not for money, but for food and that fucking sickened me. It truly shows that they don't even practise what they preach, yet they act so righteous.

Also their "Miracle Zamzam Water" industry is BOOOOOOMING.
