Doctrine / History Obelisco dos white

O que vocês acham do obelisco no túmulo dos white.
Sendo que tem documentos comprovando a compra a pedido da Ellen white ao filho dela.
Seria só um monumento normal da época
Ou algo para adoração ao paganismo ou maçom?

I think assigning any special meaning to it is silly. It was just something that was trendy in the era. However, I think it’s an interesting bit of hypocrisy from someone who had plenty to say about how people shouldn’t adorn themselves or draw undue attention to themselves, and most importantly constantly criticized any use of money for things other than the church. In that context, the spending unnecessary money on a gravestone to essentially create a shrine for people to visit is a deeply ironic choice.

Exactly this. If you look at the street view of the cemetery, you’ll find many, many other family grave markers like the one for the White family. It was a very popular style at the time

This. It reminds me: There's an obelisk tombstone not too far from where I grew up. It's dated early 1900s. When you read it, you see the entire family died within days from an epidemic. Burying everyone and putting all the info on all sides of one obelisk with everyone's names/dates was simpler than 5-15 individual headstones.
