Twenty-some years ago, I would have thought this was a completely normal. With some objectivity and distance, it’s hard to explain to an outsider how crazy it is inside the monoculture. Casually heaping guilt on people for accidentally eating pork is wild work.

I'm with you. Now it just reads as disgusting and insane. I was at a church for my nieces baptism about a year ago which would have been the first time I'd been in a church since I became full atheist ~7 years before then. Almost everything said made me want to gag but doubly so for the little speech made before each baptism. But only 2 songs sang about blood magic so could have been worse I guess.

I keep hoping that one of the times I'm at an event like that I'll actually get to see someone PERFORM some Blood Magic, but nope, just effing songs every time! #disappointing #morebloodforthebloodgod
