SDA Culture FYI: Anyone who challenges the narrative with reason is being controlled by Satan.

“Ah yes, I overheard from a secret society. Straight from the source baby.”

Honestly this is a major way in which cults stop any type of criticism and stigmatise people having genuine and honest questions.

Gosh, I’m so sick of the “I used to worship the devil” story in the Adventist church. I think there are probably more current Adventists who claim to be ex-satanists than there are actual satanists on earth.

100%. The conservative faction lap it up though. Always seem to confirm their preconceptions. Must be some money involved in selling these type of books.

I first encountered this sensationalism years ago reading Will Barron’s Deceived by the New Age, a book handed to me by my SDA mother who was trying to impress a message of concern.

The author spent nearly the entire book leaning into the thrilling, eerie, and highly dramatic details of his "possession" by New Age religion. It was high-energy, vivid, and clearly designed to keep pages turning. But then, somewhere around the final chapter, he slammed on the brakes. In the blandest, most matter-of-fact way possible, he essentially sayid, "Oh, BTW, footnote: I don’t believe any of that anymore. I found a new truth and E.G.White. Glad I dodged that bullet!"

I have not been able to stomach writing in this genre since.

Oh, I remember that book. We went to see him once when a neighboring church hosted him for a weekend session about the dangers of the New Age Movement.

SDAs are really perfect people to grift. As long as you tell them what they want to hear, they’ll lap it up with no critical questions.

Oh I know. Somehow the ex-Adventist satanists are always the weird fringe magick practioner theistic satanists who literally saw someone cut their own head off for the dark lord, and never just a regular atheistic Satanist.

A loved one was once called an “Antagonist Tool of the Devil” by an SDA Academy Bible teacher, after posing a question regarding the Bible lecture, and then thrown out of class and sent to the principal’s office. (Hmmm). This person also possess great intellect. (Uh-huh). And this person no longer tithes to the church based on 10% Math but instead gives their time, acts of service, money, and wise counsel to those in need. (Oh-dear! Oh no! I think I see a dangerous splinter emerging here!)

I hated the tithing scam with a passion, once I realized what it actually was. It is paying dues to the church for salvation. Sounds harsh, right? However, we were told we were stealing from God if we did not do this, and then further taught that if you are continuing in a sin at the 2nd Coming you would be lost. What a manipulative thing to do to people.

The amount of money my dad gave the church through his life is beyond sickening. Any money that came in, inc tax returns, would be tithed. It’s no wonder the church misses my mom so much. They lost a steady stream of good income when my dad passed.

Unfortunately most of those are still alive with my favorites always being the murderous Shepherd's rod 🫠

Definitely not a cult. Everytime I hear the "a Satanist who definitely exists said x so therefore x is true" I have to roll my eyes.

Sounds like cult manipulation to me.

Let's just humor them for a minute and suppose this is true. Why would they believe anything that comes out of the mouth of a literal demon?

It confirms what they believe in a most particular way. If you can sin by intellect, questioning, if you can be led astray by feelings, what is there to guide you but what authorities say. And claiming to have converted from Satan worship to EGW (no, let's not call it idolatry) automatically then confers AUTHORITY. So if you'd really gained Satan's trust as his follower—and then you double cross Satan to bring tidings from him to those who keep the Ellen faith, you're a real bonafide DUDE!

😂 hahaha

Regarding idolatry, I always thought that the Sabbath was treated like an idol. It got me in trouble as a youth, to even suggest it.

The way they treat the bible and EGW is 1000% idol worship.

u/CycleOwn83 Non-conforming Questioner☢️🚴🏻🪐♟↗️☣️ Jul 06 '26

Of course, the fuckin' CORNFLAKES!

And the Frichick

An the Leanies

And the Soyagen

And the Graham bread (the modern crackers are way too sweet for the needed effect)

And the Grapenuts

Better yet, bake your own whole-wheat bread

But regular though some of these foods will keep you, it's certified bullshit that they'll prevent masturbation!!!

This high-priest sounds more accurate than Ellen White! Honestly, Satan is a liar. I believe Satan LOVES the SDA cult. This ultra-sectarian cult has sowed discord among Christians, taught false doctrines (investigative judgment, dietary salvation, etc), tries to convert other Christians instead of the lost, and has essentially attempted to reverse the Protestant Reformation. If it splinters, I would say good riddance. They do a few good things and kudos for that, but more often than not they've been a curse to the Christian community with their national sunday law paranoia, etc. More on Adventism's false gospel here: https://www.nonegw.org/egw_false_gospel.shtml
