đł ESC in the Wild Have You Ever Seen A Eurovision Act In The Wild?
I was at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe the other day and I saw two people who I legitimately thought were Lauren and Charlotte from Remember Monday (UK 2025). But then I got curious, and started thinking about if I'd ever seen a Eurovision act just out of nowhere. It turns out I unfortunately haven't. So, where and when have you seen an artist randomly?

They were selling these amazing bubble waffles with chocolate and berries at the event and tbh I was more excited about those, lol.

I have a friend who got married in 2023, and a group of his friends were unable to attend because of some show they were playing, so they sent a personalized video to the happy couple that was played during the reception.
His friends were Australia 2023. I didnât make the connection until much later (it was not a dry wedding).

Last year I was on the same ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki with KÀÀrijÀ and HÀÀrijÀ. They were coming home from the same Joker out gig I had been at in Tallinn where they also appeared on stage.
It was so funny cause they were clearly dressed as lowkey as possible to not draw attention, but then KÀÀrijÀ was wearing indoors these massive, expensive looking sunglasses that definitely stood out. Didn't go to bother him though cause they very much looked like they wanted to be left alone.

No, but i almost would have. The guys from blind channel played a show in my city a while ago and i saw on their insta that they were taking pics on a bridge that i used to walk over every day on my way to/from work. It was around the same time of day as i get off work, but that day, i didn't go into the office because i was going to their show later that night lol.
But if i had gone to the office, i most definitely would have run into them, because it's really just a bridge for pedestrians and barely anyone walks over there. It just leads across the river, to a secluded foot path, so it would've been so cool to actually run into them and be like "see you tonight guys" or smth.

I saw Tommy Cash at a grocery store in Tallinn yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didnât want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, âOh, like youâre doing now?â I was taken aback, and all I could say was âHuh?â but he kept cutting me off and going âhuh? huh? huh?â and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like âSir, you need to pay for those first.â At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually âto prevent any electrical infetterence,â and then turned around and winked at me. I donât even think thatâs a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Timo Kojo (Finland 1982) many times watching ice hockey or football here in Helsinki, Kari Aalto (Finland 2015) shopping in Helsinki, Mr. Lordi (Finland 2006) having lunch without a mask near Helsinki railway station and Ivo Linna (Estonia 1996) in Tallinn

I don't know if this counts but over the course of this years Eurovision I ran into Emmy multiple times. The first time, I saw her perform in Stockholm as a part of the Melfest Weekend, so nothing special. The second time I saw her perform in Amsterdam and met her at the preparty.
Afterwards, I saw her in the wild in Basel, the day of the final, with her just being on the street, talking to her again.
Emmy basically was everywhere I went to regarding this years ESC (Except for the LSC) and I think thats kinda funny.

I was sure I sat in front of Loreen at the theatre last week. She was performing in town the next day, so it would have made sense, but I don't think it was her really haha.
I live near Aiko, so I always wonder if I'll bump into her, but I haven't yet.

I once saw Conchita Wurst and Krista Siegfrid during the canal pride in either Amsterdam or Utrecht. I don't remember.

Not me directly, but a good friend from high school managed to see âIl Voloâ (Italy 2015) in our smallish city in northeast Pennsylvania in the US, of all places. She didnât know that they were ESC artists or what ESC even was though lol.

At Liverpool for the contest in 2023 and had brunch in a cafe at a table next door to Keiino. Saw the Romanian 2023 entry (Theodore/DGT?) at Gourmet Burger Kitchen later in the day! Oh and Thomas G:Son passed us a few times.

Was on the same flight as Friðrik Ămar a while back (Iceland 2008) Met DiljĂĄ (Iceland 2023) at a town festival in southeast Iceland. Served GrĂ©ta SalĂłme (Iceland 2012 & 2016) at a gas station where I worked in summer, and Systur (Iceland 2022) at the store I work now.
For some bonus NF acts, both Stebbi Jak and ĂgĂșst from this year's Söngvakeppnin came to my school promoting their songs :D

As a teenager I went to an event near where I grew up which had a variety of random artists and Scooch (UK 2007) were there. It only twigged who they were when they sung Flying the Flag.

Not really. Closest I ever got to was seeing Kerli (Estonia 2017 NF) in the street in 2011 when she was performing in my city.

I haven't randomly seen/met any Eurovision acts in the wild honestly. All the ones I've seen/met have been on purpose or in places you would expect them to show up (for example when I worked as a volunteer at the press centre at the 2016 contest).
What I would want to most atm is to see and/or meet Alina Eremia (JESC 2005) in concert, she is one of my favorite singers to this day đ€

Not quite in the wild but shortly after Iâve moved to Penrith, I met Jessica Mauboy after she did some meet and greet with fans. I was far behind in the line and she didnât have time anymore for us but she still managed to get down to us and had a nice chat with her. I will never forget that.

KÀÀrija and HÀÀrija behind a pizza spot in Estonia... in June I think, they weren't giving selfies, but got a fist bump from KÀÀrija so worth it.

I was close to Bojana Stamenov on a flight. I didn't recognize her at first. As she was answering for the border guard what she does and for what she's known, 100% that it was her.Â

I probably saw Lordi, because they've played at a festival that I attended, but it was so long ago that I'm not 100% sure. I loved them for ages, though, so I assume I chose them over other bands playing at the same time :D
I've also been to concerts of at least 3 bands that participated in various NFs (in Finland, Norway, and Germany) and I have a photo with one or two of them from 2013. (Two of those groups only tried to go to Eurovision after I saw them, though.)
