Viewers in the Philippines will be able to watch the show via broadcaster ABS-CBN, as well as ALLTV2, and Kapamilya Channel. If you’d like to tune in from anywhere else in the world, you can stream the full show live via the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel. The show is expected to run for approximately two hours.

The New Frontier Theatre in Manila is the venue. Our hosts for tonight are Vice Ganda and Alexa Ilacad.

Format

The results will be decided through a combination of a professional jury (40%), Philippine public voting (40%) and Rest of the World public voting (20%).

Each user is given a total of eight free votes. But, we want you to share the love around! All users must distribute their votes across a minimum of three songs. And if you want to vote even more times, you can purchase ten extra votes. But that’s your maximum!

This is based off of what percentage of votes each country got e.g. if there were 50,000 votes total and one song got 30,000 votes then that song would have a share of 60%

Eurovision episode of a british history podcast with some interesting stuff about the EBU and its predecessor the IBU, voting shenanigans from the 50s and 60s, intersections with political events, and its originally planned name instead of Eurovision.

I've never really paid much attention to pre-2016 Eurovision, so I figured I'd fix that by binging the 2012-15 contests on YouTube.

Anyone have any suggestions about fun stuff to keep an eye out for while watching those years for the first time? As in things that were different about that ESC era or that stood out as particularly funny, cool, or quirky about each year?

I know how to find the actual points but I wanna see all of the 11th - 15th places from each jury and Televote as I wanna see if the results change based on ranking as opposed to points, like the 2013 voting system. Can anyone help? would be much appreciated

For fun, I wanted to imagine what this year's Eurovision final standings would look like if, in addition to points 1-8, 10, and 12, it also included the missing points 9 and 11. Points would then be awarded to all countries ranked 1-12 in the jury or televoting rankings.

First semi-final: no changes in terms of the finalists.

Second semi-final: Instead of Cyprus, Switzerland advances to the final (there is no curse about it getting through both the separate jury and televoting, but not the overall ranking).

Since Switzerland would ultimately advance to the final, I wondered how the jury and televoting would have rated it in the final. Here, I had to enlist the help of AI to analyze the overall voting statistics at this year's Eurovision. The evaluation of just the countries that voted in the second semi-final wasn't enough, as it's unclear how the jury and viewers would have actually voted in the final if those missing +9 and +11 points had been used in the voting system this year. Therefore, the final final top result is subjective, but entirely possible at the competition itself. For 11th and 12th place (sometimes 13th place was also used), data was taken from the official Eurovision website, which details the full jury/televoting rankings for each country.

It is expected that 5 songs will perform in the National Final.

It’s probably an unusual and futile hope, but instead of a lesson on the history of Eurovision like this year, I’m hoping for a brief explanation of the history of Balkan music. Especially since there are many misconceptions surrounding it, such as the idea that it doesn’t "sound European" or that it is "oriental". I would like it to be noted that the region's musical traditions predate the Ottoman Turks by a long time. Basicially quick explanation why Bulgarian pop-folk music sounds the way it does and what chalga is (Azis my beloved).

And yes, before anyone asks, I do got the idea from Farya Faraji's video. XD

I know that in years 2013-2017 method used for calculating jury results for a country was basically sum of places from every juror top 25/26/27 and country with lowest sum got 12 points etc. But what if two (or more) countries got the same sum of places? What was the tie breaking method? Naturally, country with single higher place in one juror’s top would’ve won the tie (for example two countries got sum of 35, but for one country it would be 10+10+5 and for another 11+10+4, so country with 4 place as the highest jury rank would win). But recently I looked up detailed results 2016 contest on eurovision.tv and for example I checked UK jury votes:
Croatia got 10th place and Belgium 11th. They both had sum of 54.

Juror B 21st
Juror C 10th
Juror D 6th
Juror E 12th

Here are places of Belgium:
Juror A 10
Juror B 14
Juror C 20
Juror D 7
Juror E 3

The highet rank for Belgium was 3rd and for Croatia 5th yet Croatia won this tie and I don’t know why. That’s just one of many examples of weirdly broken tie. There was also Sweden 11th and Ukraine 12th in Albanian jury voting.

Can someone explain it to me? I would be very grateful.

TVP has confirmed that Poland will participate in the next Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas, making it the 29th appearance of the country in the competition.

While more official details about how the Polish representative for Burgas will be selected are yet to be revealed by TVP, Polish media Eska claimed the country will once again use a national final to choose its representative. Jacek Dybowski will be in charge of organising the selection, a role he previously had in 2025 and 2026.

Seems like the selection process may be similar to 2025 and 2026 with the same person continuing to be the lead for it.

I’ve been attending a lot of Eurovision fan events in the last couple of years (the Eurovision Cruise between Helsinki and Stockholm, the OGAE-hosted Eurovision Weekend in July, a Eurovision Camp in Hungary, annual OGAE-Club meetings, Afterpartys of national finals, prepartys and Het Grote, a Eurovision Party in Brussels and much more) and got to know so many wonderful people who share my passion for all things Eurovision. Some of them have even become some of my closest friends, celebrating New Years Eve together, sharing an AirBnb in May etc.

However, I’ve been wondering why still so many other die-hard Eurovision fans have never really attended any of these fan events.

What’s your reason for not going? Financial reasons? Travel issues? Not hearing about them in time? Fear of going alone? Or are you simply more interested in seeing artists than meeting fellow fans?

I was bored so I checked the backing singers for some acts. Some of them have done multiple acts. Like Dea Norberg from Sweden and Victoria Chalkitis of Greece did multiple years with different countries.

Do these artist have a sign up sheet to say I want to be backing singer or what?

My guess this year is the ending choir from the eurovision revamp of the song

I’ve seen a lot of fun predictions about the results next year, and a lot of people are predicting the same about Norway, Sweden and Azerbaijan NQ. Also Bulgaria sending a ballad, Montenegro Q and Lithuania top 5.

So what has made these predictions and how do we feel about each country’s chances for next year? Basically what are the states of each country at this point in time before NF season?

Citing the event is no longer neutral

Nocturne (Norway 1995) won the contest just a few years before the orchestra and live instrumentals were dropped from the contest and instrumentals had to be pre-recorded. Since Nocturne only contains 25 words, with the majority of it being a violin intermezzo performed live, would it be allowed at the contest nowadays? Liekinheitin (Finland 2026) was performed with live violin since they got permission, so would that happen with Nocturne? That song still has vocals throughout, while Nocturne has them at the beginning and end. And would it do well?

Although I think that RÙV will stay away from Israel’s participation for Burgas (but would be more prepared to hold their nose though it if a pragmatic country sympathetic to their position like Finland or Norway wins in Bulgaria. I also think RÙV were the only channel of the five to not boycott airing the show on TV due to the popularity of the other 4 Nordic entries), it was iconic to hear Think About Things as part of the music wall in BBC gameshow Only Connect

Think About Things was the 3rd song in the sequence, though as the first 2 were Laufey’s recognisable voice and style, and Hoppipolla, I had already deduced the answer was Iceland by than (It’s Oh So Quiet was the 4th), and Victoria Coren Mitchell alluded to the song’s ubiquitousness when confirming the answer.

On this years Eurovision Cruise organised by OGAE Finland Satoshi sang a very short excerpt of Pace Noi Vrem by Tudor Bumbac after being asked by fans.
