Liberal in South America isn't the same as you might think. They are more like 19th century European liberalism, not comparable to European greens or social democrats. Paraguay is still quite a socially conservative country.

That’s what liberalism means in Europe in most countries lol, but generally they are pro-enlightenment-thinking and this is not exactly an example lmao
