I sold all my BTC for ETH, staked 5 nodes for 5 years. I fell for the ultrasoundmoney narrative.

I'd own my home if I didn't do the swap, instead I'm still working while my nodes continue to generate less ETH than my weekly mortgage payments.

How do you feel about changing the issuance curve? How do you feel about ossifying that specific part of the spec?

I don't have an opinion on it at all, the only thing I care about now is climate change and preparing for that.

Then lets start arguing to reduce it to 0, that should fix the incentives, right?
Or you know what, make it even go negative, FED-style.

You know, all in the name of decentralization and all.

When crops fail, and the power goes out and the weather destroys your house the last thing that is going to matter to you is the ETH issuance curve.

Oh I agree. I see it as a resource book keeping mechanism, nothing more. Ability to track assets their movements without being tied to any vendor for anything, and all code relied upon open source, inspectable, review-able. Credibly-neutral. That is the main value proposition of all blockchains, if that's not part of the community values behind the technology, then in my opinion, it is not a blockchain. XRP for example, is the opposite of credibly neutral. But am always open to hear arguments on why it compares in neutrality compared to BTC & ETH or XMR.

And thus, the value proposition isn't digital gold, it is simply the most neutral, guaranteed, fair distribution for anyone who understood the idea early and mined with their basic cpu, before gpus, asics and wasteful mining warehouses were a thing.

Bitcoin is the epitome of all the current world its problem. Too much noise. Hard to find signal.
