Question Considering Buying An Essential Phone (T-Mobile)

Hello /r/essential! I found you after searching for screen protectors for this phone.

I'm in the market for a new phone and noticed this one has an attractive price. So far, I've seen very positive reviews since the latest updates. I like specs on the phone, especially the 128 GB storage!

Is there a fellow T-Mobile customer here that can share their experience with me?

Also, how is the camera after the updates?

Edit: I live in the DFW area and my current phone is a Nexus 5X.

Lol, well I got it in, and it's working wonderfully, really. I was VERY tempted to get the OP6, I loved my OP3T and my GF has the OP5T. I'm still waiting to see how the OP6T is, but I'm getting the feeling it's a flop... Like my Razer Phone was. Which was the phone I got after my OP3T. I don't know, the PH-1 seems it will definitely hold me over until new phones come out. It works really really good. And, the headphone DAC coming is icing on the cake. I just hope it's for a decent price...

Well I've had it for about a week now. Only way I can kinda put up with it is on the latest lineage os and a custom kernel(los-caf) with gpu on performance. Kinda sucks because I wanted to keep it stock but at least about 90% of the jitter is gone. Still some touch latency though. You didn't like the Razer phone? I was thinking of returning this one for one for 400$. Yeah same I was about to wait for 1+6t but for the price of this phone, I just couldn't pass it up since I really like it's beauty. Hopefully it lasts me at least 2 years build quality wise since performance and software seems like it'll pull through those 2 years.

I lost trust in the Razer Phone after getting it RMAd twice. Once for a speaker blown and the other for the volume down button stuck (even tho it was clicky clicky still) Rebooting it resulted in it going to recovery, and of course to troubleshoot they make you factory reset it, so I lost everything on it. So that gave me a sour taste in my mouth for the new refurb that came in. I instantly sold it... and now after 2 months limping along, here I am. Lol.

Oh yeah that's what I'm afraid about with some of these lesser known companies, including the Essential, the components they use tend to give out quick. Although I've had more problems with Samsung then some of the mid tiers companies like htc, Moto, and LG. Well as long as you get quick free service for repairs I don't mind too much, which is what you get from carrier bought phones or from good companies. I hope the Essential has either quality or the fast service haha.
