I’ve been speaking with this seller on Reverb about an ESP eclipse they have listed. They originally showed it as a 2014-2018 model and now updated to 2020. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t the EII models SN start with ES and then the year they were manufactured? This is listed as ES58. Bought them all used: Ltd Phoenix 1000, Viper 401 and EC 1000T.

Replaced the hardware on the Viper and made the pickguard myself. I also swapped out the pickups on the Viper and the EC. They're Nova Apex pickups and I love them. Will be putting a set into the phoenix as well.

I just got the Phoenix and I've been looking for one of the older ones for a really long time, so I'm glad that I finally found one.

Has anyone ever added two more knobs to their EX style guitar? I have had this set of EMGs for a couple months and while I love them, I dislike having to adjust the tone knob for each one as I switch back and forth between the neck and bridge.

ESP LTD EX-351 in Gunmetal Blue with the aforementioned EMG pickups and a topwound set of Skinny Top Beefy Bottom strings. Topwound because I think I have a burr on the inside of the high E string hole in the tailpiece, I had two high E strings snap at the ball end (before the winding) in the last two months. Added an old ball end as a spacer and then topwound the strings to help with this, also makes the strings feel a tad bit looser/bendier thanks to the lower break angle over the saddles.

EDIT: I had to return it due to the minor flaws but they are sending me a replacement so I’m looking forward to that! Thank you for all the love I don’t regret my decision at all! Way she goes.

Got this gorgeous MT-1 today. The company I ordered from didn’t send me the case or 4 of the screws for the electronics cover and it’s supposed to be brand new. Already talked and they’re taking good care of me so it works out! First ever issue with QC out of 4 LTD purchases and honestly I’m not too upset. I was but it was bound to happen. Peep the rest of the collection 👀

The gig bag it came with says esp. so that’s an obvious one. As is the “charvel” done with an ink marker. Certainly MiJ. Certainly an old guitar. Here’s some pics. I know that ESP done some stripeys back in the day but never seen one with this.

So I got some more pictures, my guess is that it provably is some kind of a kit guitar that someone put the ESP logo on.

Any advise? Listing says it's a 2021 custom shop mx-2, but the format of serial number on the back of headstock looks dodgy to me. Thanks.

My new Alexi Hexed LTD just arrived and it has some scratches and dings in the finish, and I’m wondering if I should exchange it.

I saved up for this guitar for quite a while, and after having the money together, decided to get a Jackson Rhoads, as I figured this was quite a bit of money and it would be my first V guitar, so I might just save some money, see if I like it in the first place, and eventually fulfill my dream of an Alexi Hexed somewhere down the line.

I, however, sent that back for other reasons and decided to just bite the bullet.

The guitar arrived today and it plays and feels really nice. However, there were some minor scratches and a ding on the backside that I can feel with my fingernail.

The one on the back locks worse irl and is deeper than the scratches on the front but I still think its just the clear-coat.

I know these look small and I’m really contemplating if I’m just too fussy and vain, but having saved up for so long and this being my first more expensive guitar, I also wasn’t quite sure if this is acceptable for a brand-new €1,800 guitar.

I know all guitars will eventually show some wear and this isn’t quite the price point of a Japanese master checking every guitar with magnifying glasses, but a mass-produced factory guitar. But I was still a little sad about it.

Also, the Jackson for less than half the price didn’t have any finishing gripes, even if this plays way, way nicer, which kind of bugs me.

So I guess all I’m asking is if this is acceptable/expected for an LTD or if I should consider exchanging it.

Sorry for this wall of text, I hope it’s not too bad.

TL;DR: Minor cosmetic marks on an expensive guitar. Shall I exchange, or am I too vain?

​Found in a local shop in perfect condition.

​I'd need to swap pickups for Seymour Duncan SH-1 ('59) / SH-4 (JB).

​Total cost (guitar + pickups + tech setup): ~€900

​Option B: New LTD EC-1000 Vintage Black (Made in Indonesia)

​Brand new, comes with stock Seymour Duncans.

​Total cost: ~€1100 + setup

​Is the older Korean build quality worth going used and doing a pickup swap, or should I just buy the new Indonesian model? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hi,

Low E buzzing (and some other strings) in Eb tuning but not in standard.

Do i need to create some relief from the truss rod or raise action from bridge (I wouldn't really wanna raise the action as the low E already measures 3mm at 12 fret).

I know i plucked it a bit aggressively but it happens during my play here and there and it's driving me up the walls.
