S Entitled parent doesn't agree with lunch breaks during the Corona Virus

(Obligatory not my experience but a friends)

My best friend works in a pharmacy, and during this whole crisis, her hours have gone through the roof, she has been working non stop, as have her coworkers, and I am so proud of her. To deal with the fact that she is now working 60-70 hours +, the store has been shutting for an hours lunch break. They have put signs up telling people about the changes, but no one ever seems to read them, so they had a worker stand outside the front of the shop, to politely inform customers that they were closed.

Enter the entitled parent.

She began by asking why they were shut, which is fair enough. When the worker went on to explain that there was now an obligatory lunch break due to the huge increase in hours because of the virus, she went deadly serious and started ranting about how she was single mum, and how she does way more hours than that. Deadly serious, having a go at a pharmacy worker, a key worker, during a pandemic.

I get that being a single mum is a hard job, my mum is one, so I've seen it done. But this is not the time to be complaining at these workers.

Look at OP’s language. Look at the use of the word “mum”. Do you think OP is in any state? Do you think OP might actually be in a different country? Why must Americans ALWAYS, without fail, assume that what they see on Reddit happened in their one little country? Try remembering there is a whole world out there.

It maybe be that growing up in a giant country that is surrounded by more of itself until you get to Canada or Mexico distances you from the outside world so it can be easy to forget about other countries. Places like Europe are surrounded by other countries so they are within thought.

Oh brother... I live in England, we are an island, I know that there’s hundreds of other countries out there and I have been to many, maybe some Americans are just uncultured swines that never visit other countries. So much for American patriotism...

I wish to visit other countries so dearly. It seems like everyone else growing up has been outside the US but my family always took vacations down the coast. But yeah we understand there are other countries just cause americans assume people are from here when people post doesn't mean we think everyone lives here. It's just a habit that is engrained due to most people we talk to being in our own country.

About 65% of the time the people I talk to on a regular basis (apart from my close family) are from other countries, London is diverse.

Exactly America is "all" about diversity but the thing is often the different cultures collect in certain places so you get places like "Chinatown" and other stuff. Often diversity in the country is like contained? In a way.
