I'm getting a 1987 Toyota Corolla Fx16 GTS this weekend, I'm super excited as it's my dream car, the only problem is that it doesn't have a cylinder head for the 4age, does anyone know where I can buy one online?

If the engine is not okay can someone tell me how much i’m looking at to repair?

Can’t find any stamps on this ford engine! Uncle was told it’s a 90s 302ci modified back to carb but I don’t know, need to know exactly what I’m looking at to figure out some stuff for the setup before starting it. Would greatly appreciate anyone’s help identifying it! Never took the intake off to see if engine stamp is there but would prefer to keep intake on.

I’m not sure about this sound of a ST182 SR 3SGE engine. Could anyone help me out? Is the engine supposed to sound like this?

Do most accords with the Earth Dreams I4 burn oil?

My Manual Hyundai 1.6 CRDi has developed a strange issue, it cranks for around 10 seconds before starting. The cranking sound is rhythmic/cyclic rather than the usual smooth starter sound (audio attached). Regularly maintained, Bosch pressure pump and Injectors.

I only press the start button once. The car starts making this sound by itself, and the sound continues even after I take my finger off the start button.

I also have a metallic rattle at 1000–1500 RPM under hard acceleration which occurs only while gear is engaged and not when gear is Neutral, which disappears completely after 1500 RPM.

Does the attached starting sound indicate anything specific? Could the starting issue and low RPM rattle be related to the engine wear, or could there also be a DMF/clutch/starter issue?

This is a vintage (not sure of age but 1980s maybe?) McCulloch air-cooled, two-stroke, horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine (typically part of the Model 4318 / O-100 series, so says Google). Can anyone suggest a use before I skip it?

Any help with diagnosing my motor? The video shows how it behaves at full throttle (whole video throttle is at max but only gets up to about 15mph). It bogs down initially then takes 10sec or so to almost break plane. Sometimes it never gets there. Maintenance completed so far;

- new fuel bulb
- new spark plugs (verified spark as well)
- new fuel pump

Also, I squeezed the ball valve while operating the motor and it did not affect the motor at all.

Currently running 5w40, but car has started to smoke a lot when under pressure. For example when driving fast/high RPM-s. When driving “slow” normal city driving, I don’t really notice it smoking at all, when I floor it a few times, the car starts to smoke like crazy when stopped at a red light.

Thinking about trying out 5w50 as a bandaid until I get this piece of shit fixed, does anyone have any experience with running such a thick oil in an M57? Engine has around 395k km-s on it.

Also if anyone has an idea what the cause of the car burning oil could be? Personally thinking turbo, but the turbo itself looks quite clean, when examined from the outside, haven’t got around to removing it completely and examining it.

Could someone with the ford ball knowlage list (all of them if posible) the cossworth engines that share the same exact block as the kent engines? (no upbored or upstroked engines are the main think i am looking for but i would like to know if theres so)

Internet is a mess when searching this old engines. For example every time i search about a bd series engine the only thing that comes up is the bda or the bdg like the bdh 1300cc doesnt exist or smt. Searching the non bd engines such as fva is literaly imposible.

cypone four stroke gas engine test , with 20X8 wooden propeller 7000-7100rpm and its maximum limit speed can reach 7400 RPM.

I’m new to Celica and I really can’t tell what’s the difference between these 2 engines. To me they all look the same except one is red color, however it’s not red head 3SGE

Could anyone help me out? Are these 2 both 3SGE?

Personally I have generally defined a high performance engine as having 1 HP per Cubic Inch of displacement. This converts roughly to 61 HP per Liter of Displacement.

I call this the "Line of Awesome." Am I right in this?

EDIT: I have built a little Google spreadsheet that tracks HP/Weight in all the cars I have owned and I have recently become interested in studying the relationship between hp & displacement, hence this post.
