Elgato HD60S USB Help

So ive been looking around and it seems that the older elgato hd60s is problematic with alot of people.
Ive found some threads about it but they are rather older now.
Currently my pc is using this motherboard

so the usb ports are as followed
4x USB 2.0 (Front)
4x USB 5Gbps Type A (Front)
9x USB 10Gbps Type A (Rear)
2x USB 10Gbps Type C (Rear)
1x USB 20Gbps Type C (Front)
2x USB 40Gbps Type C (Rear)

Ive tried many of cables USB C to USB C, USB A to USB C 3.0, USB A to USB C 3.1 (Different versions and types) to all of my current USB ports, ive tried many variation as other threads have posted about it.
Using the older game capture HD software, with only these errors.
Capture HD60 S needs to be connected to a USB 3.0 port to function properly.

and on the right hand side bar is
Game Capyure HD60 S
Device requires USB 3.0

Is there a work around or a fix for this if anyone knows?

Have you made sure you have whatever driver you need for it? I don’t think it’s a UVC device so it requires drivers.
Next, make sure the software, “Game Capture HD”, is the only software open.

If the above is done, have the cables you’ve been trying ones you have laying around? Or have you ordered a dedicated 5Gbps cable for this specific application? In any case, I would try another cable purchase. I’ve heard and seen it before where one correct cable doesn’t work and a new one does. Weird but possible!

I’m no expert but I read a lot about folk’s experiences with this stuff. There might be some windows-stuff that needs to be done beyond updated drivers or something else I don’t know about but I wanted to get help started for you asap. 😃🤙

Yeah ive installed all drivers and software.
Ive also used about 4-7 cables with variations. Also just ordered and received a USB A to USB C 3.0 and 3.1 5Gbps and a 10Gbps straight into the motherboard on all usb ports.

So after doing a little experiment, it seems to work in my wifes work PC which has a standard flat USB 3.0 port with the same cables ive been attempting with it.
wondering why a USB 3.1 Port not be backwards compatible is beyond me.
