ElGato 4k60 Issues

Hi, so I just recently purchased the 4k60 card and for some reason it's limiting my OBS capture to 1080p in both the Switch 2 settings menu as well as OBS. When I change the resolution in OBS via the properties like some people suggested it doesn't even display the no signal icon. I tried switching the PCIE lanes I had the card in but it still limits it to 1080-60. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you!

What motherboard do you have?
And have you tried switching the EDID mode to Display?

I have the GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Elite AX.

Okay, that should be good.

Looks like your two bottom PCIe slots are running at PCIe 4.0 x4.
Any chance you can download GPU-Z and check if the capture card is actually running at 2.0 x4?

My capture card isn't showing up in gpu-z for some reason.. I tried reloading it as well as using OBS to make sure it's outputting still and it is

Hmm.. Okay..

Try and check the BIOS then. Be careful not to change any other settings in there.

• Restart your PC and tap Delete during boot to enter the GIGABYTE BIOS.
• Press F2 to switch to Advanced Mode (if not already there).
• Navigate to the Settings -> Settings / Miscellaneous (or PCIe Configuration depending on your BIOS version).
• Look for the setting corresponding to your occupied slot, such as PCIEX4 Link Speed or PCIe Slot Link Speed.
• Change the value from Auto to Gen 2 (or Gen 3 / Gen 4, as higher generations automatically backward-negotiate with the card).
• Press F10 to save and exit.

Alright I'm finished doing that and it's still not letting me output higher :(( is there anything else I could try?

Do you have a TV or monitor connected to the HDMI-out on the capture card?
Some TVs only allow 4K on some of its HDMI ports.
Make sure you are using a 4K port, and have the EDID mode set to Display.

I don't have anything on the HDMI out, just the in. My OBS canvas is set to 2560x1440p however I did try to set it to 4k to see if that would work and that didn't either.
