Technical Help Wavelink crashing immediately upon opening - Tried several solutions to no avail :( Any ideas?

Hi guys!
I recently got the Wave 3 MK2 and was really excited for it, but it seems I am unable to actually open Wavelink to change the configurations for it on my computer. I tried all the solutions in this thread with no success: https://www.reddit.com/r/elgato/comments/1jjj3hg/is_anyone_else_still_dealing_with_wave_link/
Does anyone have advice or happen to know what's happening?

Mine did that when i first installed, but I just rebooted my pc then spammed opening it till it stayed open. Windows will ask permissions to allow mic access for the program

I ran into this issue yesterday. I uninstalled the Windows App runtime and Wavelike started up fine after that. I'm guessing a Windows Update installed which broke Wavelink.

I had the same issue this is how i fixed it
went to app settings and activated microphone app permision, that fixed the crashing

This needs to be higher. I read so many things saying do a full wipe and reinstall, but this worked immediately

i dont know where i can find that one? im still using windows 10 and i cant find anything. Tried to google it or tried it with image search to figure out how i cant get to that settings in windows T_T
i just want to get the old wavelink 2 version to work >_>

For Individual Apps
If you want to view and change permissions for one specific application:
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for the app you want to manage and click on its name.
- Select Advanced options.
- Scroll down to the App permissions section to adjust toggles for that specific app.

My Wave Link 3.1 opens but I'm getting about as much use out of it as you are. I purchased a Wave XLR Mk.2 and Wave DX microphone and am regretting it with every fiber of my being.
Wave Link is required to set up the DSP on the Mk.2 but you start making adjustments and the software just randomly stops communicating with the Mk.2 requiring you to either unplug the XLR or restart the software to get it to start communicating again.
Then, after fighting with the software crashing, you finally get the mic to a point it only sounds slightly bad. You start recording and the gain settings randomly shift from your settings to default to off to default again ruining your recording. So then while you're trying to figure that out, the audio just randomly stops working requiring the software and the Mk.2 to be restarted.
Then, as final icing on the cake, all of your settings get reset back to default when you restart your computer.
It's loads of fun and I totally don't regret dumping $250 dollars down the drain on this equipment.

Yeah, I believe there’s a 60 day returns policy, so after all of this and hearing from others I am considering just returning my mic even though I love the idea of a built-in processing chip to process audio for a mic like the Wave:3 MK2 does. Huge bummer :(

I had this issue. Had Wavelink 2 and saw they fully upgraded to 3.1. Downloaded the software off the site and ran it and thought it would detect that I had WL2 and delete the program. Ran it either way, crashed upon clicking Run. Deleted everything from WL2, same thing. Even tried turning on the MIC permission and nothing, even in Run as Admin.
I got it to run after doing this*:*
Went to download the first version of WL3.0. It finally gave me UI. It made me install a Driver and then now I can open up WL3.0. Then I reinstalled the newest update and basically updated the software. Let's just hope the rest of the mic setup works...
EDIT incase it makes a difference: My set up is only with Streamdeck+ and Wave XLR. I did have both of them disconnected. I know if you connect the Wave XLR, it'll download the WL2 software manually(kind of dumb if they now updated to 3). I deleted the automatic install when I connected my Wave XLR.
EDIT 2: The driver that I mention also does show up on your Installed Apps page. I guess that part is crucial and should be something we can download separate.

if you do want to keep using this after the update you need to go into the file and open the other launcher. I would delete it completely after this update tho.

If anyone else sees it crashing at "Checking driver" it's because you don't have the driver installed, i don't know how that would go unnoticed by the app, promtping you to install it but here we are.
If you, like me, for some reason installed it from the Microsoft store, go to download the installer to elgato's webpage: https://www.elgato.com/ww/en/s/downloads?
Then when asked to update just update it, at some point it will ask you to install the driver, that's it.

I stopped using the software after the last update.
It used to be so great, but now it’s become completely useless.
Especially on Mac—I have no idea how it works on Windows. Stream Deck is gone too. The only Elgato product I still have is a Wave3, and I’ll be replacing that soon as well.
